Best album ever.
Review of Are You Shpongled - Shpongle by Orville9000

Advantages: Good music
Disadvantages: None

This is simply the best album I have ever heard in any genre of music, ever. Simon Posford and Raja Ram (aka Hallucinogen and part of The Infinity Project; veterans of the psy-trance scene) manage to perfectly fuse psy-trance, dub and glitchy downtempo into something quite remarkable. It was only recently that I discovered there was other stuff like this out there. Meandering flutes about, along with multiple ethnic influences and sometimes multiple ...
...than ten minutes, and the final one clocks in at an epic twenty. This is easily some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. Better than the subsequent albums as well, in my opinion, which while well-polished were not as coherent as this one, which is best listened to from start to finish. Also check Liquid Sound [label], for similar examples. ... Read review

Heres a man that needs no press release
Review of I Created Disco - Calvin Harris by epenny2

Advantages: Immense tracks and a sense of excitement
Disadvantages: A couple of useless tracks used to fill the gaps

...sceptical after hearing "The Girls" I was pleasantly surprised by the creativeness and diversity of the tunes this album had to offer. Dance music should make you want to dance, possibly sing, and jump around with your friends and loved ones. That is why it exists. If you're getting ready for a big night out, you'll whoop with joy when the Scot comes through the speakers. Tunes like "Colours" and Merrymaking at My Place" are perfect for those essential ... Crystal Castles
Review of Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles by sashqua

Advantages: originality, some finely crafted songs
Disadvantages: towards the end of the 16 tracks, it may start to feel a little same-ey

The Crystal Castles- a Toronto based duo made up of multi-talented instrumentalist Ethan Kath and singer Alice Glass that drown everyone else in a malaise of alternative electro-dance beats. Their music seems to be made up from a series of sounds from the old Atari games, perhaps the inspiration for thier name from the early 80s game also called Crystal Castle For a relatively new band, only forming in about 2004, they have already made a name collaborating ...
...describe the sound of the crystal castles could be to imagine your old atari or nintendo assaulting you with its soundcard from across the room, with some tracks sounding like a balls-out thrash. Particular tracks such as song two, Alice Practice, and song 5, XXZXCUZX are like super-mario on drugs, and can be reasonably conpared to someone like the Nashville based Be Your Own Pet. Others, on the other hand, are finely crafted, for saying they have ... Read review

Bajofondo Tango Club
Review of Bajofondo Tango Club - Various Artists by sashqua

Advantages: Alternative to most modern music, tracks 7 and 12 in particular
Disadvantages: some tracks may lull and some may feel that bit too long.

The Bajofondo Tango Club, self-titled album is a range of south-american styles and instruments from the uruguay and argentina area. This music adds a whole new, contemporary twist to the Latin-america genre with better technology and a more energetic focus. Often compared to the more European/Parisian sounding Gotan, the band were a part of Electrotango revolution that brought the failing tango scene back into the public eye. The band have recently ...
...which even better reflects their newly expanded repertoire, now including some down-beat/trip-hop, club, chill out and elements of house style music. This album is something almost totally different to anything I personally had heard before. So different, in fact, i had to hear them for the first time in spain. But was i was immediatley mesmerized by not only the unique style of the music but of the various, sometimes unconventional instruments ... Read review

great but not pendulum's best
Review of In Silico - Pendulum by n4ballack

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

this is some of the best drum and bass out there. however, it is not pendulum's best material. the best song on this album is granite. i would definitely recommend this to electronic and drum and bass fans but not so much to the techno fans. pendulum is amazing though, they have a truly addictive sound and every song is an extraordinary work of art, this album is an example of that. i recently went to one of their concerts and they are amazing live!! ...
