The production is the first good part, with some pounding drums and violins, giving it an easy-to-listen, if at times, poppy feel to it. I wouldn't have bought this album based on "Where is the Love?" as nice and meaningful a song as it was. I actually bought it based on "Shut Up" as I had never heard anything quite like it before. Looking back now, it doesn't seem all that different from anything else, but when it came out last year (god, it was that long ago???) it "seemed" new and interesting. (And still IS interesting!) At first, I barely listened to the album, except to listen ...
...sometimes, only listen to the songs that I bought the album on the basis of. Not really giving the rest of an album a chance, for ages. What usually happens is, one day I can't be bothered getting up straight away to skip the song back to the start again, so I hear a bit of the next couple of songs and quite like them and start listening to them too . . . and so on, until I eventually (about six months later) know most of the songs on the album and ... ...and MC-ing but this album, Elephunk does them a lot of credit! This is the Black Eyed Pea's third album believe it or not and this time they have cracked it! Rather than this album being all hardcore hip-hop and rap etc the Black Eyed Peas have gone for the more conventional approach of creating a party album if you like to target a wider audience. They could not have picked a better first single, than the foreve popular Where is the Love?This ...
...today in many different ways. Elephunk is full of mostly pointless and sometimes just daft lyrics such as they continually "keep it stinky" on Smells Like Funk. Topics covered include partying, sexy girls, booty shaking, and, well, partying. The first track, Hands Up features a horn section that sounds swiped from Get Smart and a perfectly placed slide guitar. The only problem with this however is that Fergie nearly ruins it with a weak middle rap. ... Read review

The Black Eyed Peas, Elephunk, album has done them alot of credit! It has swung them into the limelight at last! Third album and they have finally done it! Made it big time! The album has a variety of different tunes not just hardcore hip-hop and rap, but some latino and other cultural influences as well. Thus appealing to a wider audience. The overall atmosphere produced by the album is very bubbly and partyish! This is a comparatively long album ...
...the album include 'Where is the Love?', 'Hey Mama' and 'Shut up'. But some of my favourite tracks are later in the album. I think track 13 is my ultimate best track. Im not sure what language in which the guy is singing in, but the contrast between the singing of English and the other language, provides a serene atmosphere. This is a comparatively long album – 16 tracks (in the U.K.) of Black Eyed Peas discharge. Somewhat ‘retardedly’ however, they stopped trying after track 7. Each of the songs on this album has a clear mood; however the actual tune and lyrics seem to constantly suffer trying to adhere to the mood. Specific culprits of this are ‘sexy’, ‘anxiety’, and ‘what’s going down’. This does mean, however, that this makes an excellent ‘mood’ album. If you’re ...
...B feel, this album is perfect, it provides changes in theme and ambience that will guide your party through the evening. It offers the majority of their releases in the first half, thus this should get people on their feet (these tunes are undoubtedly groovable), and then as things are winding down the latter half of the album provides slightly more relaxing and chat-over-able music.
