...= HARDCORE HEAVEN VOL 1 = Mixed by DOUGAL and BREEZE Hardcore is a strange genre, and I can understand why so many people won't touch it with the proverbial bargepole. The late nineties saw a really steep decline of the rave scene, and hardcore in particular. For most people, the lack of new or original material saw them walk away from big events to seek newer sounds elsewhere and the re-emergence of illegal sound systems at the turn of the millenium was probably incidental as ravers looked for a dirtier, more progressive sound. Some will argue that hardcore never died, but if it didn't it was seriously, seriously ill for longer than it deserved to be. He is thee man. This the guy responsible for making Tori Amos "Professional Widow" and The Sneeker Pimps "Spin Spin Sugar" massive hits. As well as producing some damn fine house records himself such as "You Don't Know Me" and "The Funk Phenomena". His artist albums have never failed to impress; he always tries something new and inventive. As a DJ he is a master of the decks with all the tricks up his sleeve, he can mix everything thing from house and techno to hiphop and ragga.
