As well as being my favourite film, this is also one of my favourite soundtracks. Most of Tim Burton's films have soundtrack's brilliantly composed by Danny Elfman, and this is no exception. He has composed music for Edward Scissor Hands, the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Beetlejuice, Batman and many more...

His sound is usually very Christmassy and quite magical, and this is emphasised even more as he brings about not only the darkness of Halloween, but the magic and excitement of Christmas in his music for this film.

However, I found this soundtrack very hard to get hold of, but I managed to find one in HMV, but they're not always in stock. But once you've found one, grab it. It is definately worth the £15 that I payed for it and definately gets you into the Christmas mood, or just into dark thinking. Although £15 may seem slightly high, there are a whole 20 songs, so this is definately value for money.

The soundtrack includes favourites from the film, and starts off with 'This Is Halloween,' one of the main anthems of the film. Although, the whole soundtrack is varied, with many different styles of song, sung by the real character voices. The first cold blast of Christmas is put into the album in the sixth track with 'What's This?' which is sung by Jack as he enters Christmas Town. In contrast to this magical, happy Christmas song, there is also 'Jack's Lament', a sorrowful and dark tune which will bring back memories of the film straight away. But to brighten things up, this album also includes 'Oogie Boogie's Song' and the dark 'Kidnap the Sandy Claws'.

But I'd definately give this a top rating. Whether you're a fan of the film, a fan of Danny Elfman, want to be put in that Christmas or Halloween mood, or just want a great soundtrack to listen to, then this is the one to go for.
