Elgar: (The) Collector's Edition

Advantages: three amazing movies
Disadvantages: not so great extras

...specially made for the collector?s edition detailing how the films were made. The booklet comes complete with pictures but in all honesty takes about ten minutes to flick through. Overall I cannot recommend the Die Hard Trilogy enough. Presented in 5.1 Dolby surround sound it sounds amazing, and all three of them look fantastic too! All three are genuinely exciting, keeping you on the edge of your seat right until the last moment. All in all these are an absolute classic and seriously worth the money! Advantages: A Ken Russell classic not to be missed
Disadvantages: None, unless you are expecting a Ken Russell "shocker"

But initially, Ken Russell started his career as a pioneer in the still infant world of TV documentaries and produced programmes which whilst fairly uncontroversial in comparison to his later creative work, still proved to be revolutionary ground-breakers in the development of television in Britain. "Elgar" is one of these early programmes. "Elgar" - a Monitor programme. Back in the late 1950s and 60s, television was still in its infancy as a mass media outlet and Monitor was an arts programming strand regarded as one of the crown jewels of the BBC's output.
