I want the Trio and I want them NOW!!

Advantages: Energetic, Plenty of good tracks, Enjoyable
Disadvantages: Not their most succesful release, lacks a little cheer at times..

at times. I sympathise with the sentiments at times [which worries me =)] but I think it sets the trio apart from similar bands. Rather than focus on self pity, they prefer to aim for self-loathing and they know how to paint a musical picture of the atmosphere they want to create. The album does have its flaws, as most do but it is of reasonable length and manages to make sure most tracks are of a good standard. There are four or five really good tracks and I would recommend maybe checking a few of them out. Whilst they do come off across as self-indulgent at times, the lyrics are usually at times the highlight of the song. I do not have many further criticisms of the album. The genre is fairly narrow which the band move within but this means that if you like one song, chances are you will like most of the others. Overall, a very thoughtful ...

Moving along nicely.

Advantages: A well paced Sci-Fi story
Disadvantages: Not everyone genre or style.

Moving Target - Elizabeth Moon. Also known as Marque and Reprisal. ~ About the Author ~ Elizabeth Moon is a Sci-Fi and Fantasy writer of some considerable note. What makes her writing fairly unique though is the fact she has a military background, attaining the rank of Lieutenant with the US Marine Corps, who she joined in 1968. She is also an experienced paramedic, has at least one degree in History and has been involved in local government at various levels. A lot of her military background comes across in her novels, and Moving Target is no exception. ~ The Book ~ This is the second book in a series of 4 (although a 5th is due to be published sometime in early 2008). It is very much a Sci-Fi novel, so not to everyone's taste. The series has been described as being 'Space Opera' - A term I hadn't heard of, but ...

Review of Moving Target - Elizabeth Moon

The Shady Shepherd

Advantages: A superb recreaction of a bygone time.
Disadvantages: Bum-numbing running time and an excess of detail.

montages. However, De Niro's diligence is ultimately the film's undoing. It is overburdened with detail about the creation of the CIA and how it affected Wilson's personal life. But this doesn't feel like a run of the mill spy film. Agents are depicted as a series of anonymous suits, who simply do as they're told because they believe it's for the greater good, no matter what the personal cost. It isn't made out to be a glamorous career in any sense. And its origins in the shady secret societies of the Ivy League colleges smacks of an old boys' club ensuring the preservation of their own way of life above all. This makes for a thorough and probably quite historically correct production, but it is also long-winded and rather dull, truth be told. The action moves at a glacial pace and the majority of the characters are so emotionally closed ...
