Advantages: Not overlong at 10 tracks, gets better with each listen. Disadvantages: Opening track not the strongest.
...All the best records take a few listens (at least) to reveal their true nature. On first play this sounded like a typical 2nd album - longer tracks, less up-tempo. A month on this has to be my favourite CD of 2007. Nearly all the 10 tracks have resolved into fantastic, atmospheric (and not always gloomy!) tales of urban life and escape. Great tunes underpin the songs, with the now-trademark steepling guitar riffs standing out most in the choruses. Some not unwelcome echos of The Smiths are to be found in the lyrics, most obviously in the title track, but tracks like Weight of the World and Escape The Nest are really uplifting, the latter also containing the finest moments on the album with its soaring, thrilling chorus. What a live track that promises to be... Recommended!

Advantages: Classic track 'Bulldozer' & 4 bonus tracks, good production job Disadvantages: By far the worst Machine Head Album let down by weak lyrical content
...getting into the swing of things...
'Blank Generation' this is Machine Head in Lulably sleepy mode, only bursting a litle, not a bad track though some of the clean moments come off quite well here. The build-up to the chorus is quite an explosion and an interesting part of the track that almost has a groove to it, then Robb ruins it with "...to the hollywood world, we made out of barbie dolls hearts, after we melted em down, so we could make a new start..." it goes on and gets worse which ruins the track, but the riff that roars underneath when it kicks in is a monster!!!!
Bass intro and whispered aggressive vocals punch away with flailing arms. Then the double bass drums thunder in, pounding the dust from the very meaning of life. The albums second strongest point is here, what a track too. It's high paced with a chorus that screams to...

Advantages: Great sound! Disadvantages: Sub-par vocals
...Kill em All is the greatest album in Metallica's lineup. Now, I've been a fan of Metallica for 10 years. The first music tape I ever bought was Metallica's Black album, when I didn't even know who they were. I've been a fan since, and I own albums Kill em All through Garage Inc. I have to admit I was kind of hesitant to purchase the album, but I don't regret buying it at all. Most people say that Master of Puppets is their finest piece, but I have to disagree. As a true fan of Metallica, I enjoy each piece differently from the other. The major problem with the album is basically the only problem, and that is the lyrical sound of it. Hettfield had not quite learned to improve his lyrical prowess yet, and it does show, but I did not find it to be irritating as most people do, infact, I see it as unique and fantastic because it's different...
