Album Notes: Full title: Emergency Third Rail Power Trip/Explosions In The Glass Palace.
Album Reviews: Q (5/92, p.98) - 4 Stars - Excellent - \"...a blissed-out Big Star, pitching Mersey Beat against golden electric folk and Syd Barrett-style introspection...\"
Advantages: Diverse styles; features "Kiss" Disadvantages: Slightly too psychadelic in parts
...argue that he influenced Lenny Kravitz. Generally, he'll try his hand at most popular styles and given his high work rate of the 80's coupled with it's near flawless quality, it would be sacrilege to try to label this influential and unique artist.
WHAT'S PARADE ALL ABOUT THEN?

Aside from music, Prince also fancied himself as something of a movie star. His first bash at the silver screen, in 1984, produced the egotistical and indulgent Purple Rain. It was panned by the critics, of course. Unperturbed, he had another crack in 1986 with Under The Cherry Moon. Advantages: Fully comprehensive - Jam/Style Council included; great music; well packaged; available for bargain prices Disadvantages: does not include the original version of 'that's entertainment.' A real shame!
...Released for the christmas market in 2006 and because Paul also won the BRIT award for outstanding contribution to British music that year, a comprehensive greates hits, including songs from the Jam and Style Council days, as well as Paul's solo career was needed. After all, the man Weller had managed a 30 year career!

The single CD is good but it contains 23 tracks, this 4 CD boxset has 64...

‘Now, I'm gonna love you
Till the heavens stop the rain
I'm gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky
For you and I’
There’s not a moggy on the moon’s chance that a track containing such syrupy lyrics would ever have made it onto one of the band’s previous albums.

The third track, ‘Shaman’s Blues’, is, for me, the worst on the album, and hey, surprise surprise, it’s an obvious Jim song that teleports back to previous recordings.
How do you know it was written by Morrison? Just look at the closing lines:
‘He's sweatin', look at him...
optical promise...
you'll be dead and in hell before
I'm born...
sure thing...bridesmaid...
the only solution...
Isn't it amazing?’
There then follows a quick paced...
