UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!!

Its taken long enough coming but I've finally decided to give my revised ideas on this album. Ive been listening to it a lot and I have now changed my mind about a lot of it. Instead of just editing my old stuff, I will put my new comments <Inside> some brackets like that so you can tell how my views have changed.

Here we go:

Marshal Mathers, Slim Shady, Eminem or More recently Rap Boy. Whatever he's calling himself, you know who he is! He's the most famous white rapper since Vanilla Ice(God Rest his soul...What? He's not dead? Oh ok then) and he's back with a new single, but more importantly, a new album! I bought his last album fairly early on and loved it. I now have two copies because of a dodgy relationship and a early-bought Christmas Present but thats beside the point.
The new album came out around a week ago and I snapped it up on a 'first week' offer, in this opinion I will run through each song, pointing out the style, best quotes, theme and any other relavant information before passing my verdict and giving a * out of 5 rating. Ok, ready people? Lets go!

1.Curtains Up
This is a intro and takes the form of what is known as a 'skit'. This normally means it is spoken or acted instead of sang. Its about 30 seconds long and is basically what it says 'Curtains up'.

<This hasn't really changed. Still 'Curtains up' as its always been>

2.White America***
The intro leads into the start of this song perfectly and is a very loud song with a catchy chorus typical of Eminem. In this track he is making a point of America being a racist nation and that he has worked for America all his life and now they are rejecting him, or at least this is the impression I get. A good quote that sums up this song is as follows "Congress keeps tellin me I ain't causin nuthin but problems/and now their sayin Im in trouble with the government, Im lovin it, I shoveled $#!T all my life/ and now I'm dumpin it on...White America!"
This is a very addictive song and will stick in your head for a few hours after you hear it, although I can't see it being one of the tracks chosen for singles release from the album.
Rating = 3 out of 5

<I like this one a bit more now but its still pretty much what I have said up there. Revised Rating 3.5 ouf of 5>

3.Business**
This is definatly a Hip-Hop Eminem style song and is still being used to introduce the album. It keeps throwin up batman type comments such as the introduction "(Dre) Marshall. Sounds like an SOS (Eminem) Holy Wack, unlyrical Lyrics Andre! Your F*[k!*G right! (Dre) To the Rapmobile! Lets go!"
The song talks about how the music scene has been polluted with garbage(N*Sync) while Eminem has been away but now he's back to sort out the problem Rap Boy Style! This isn't my favorite song on the Album and once again I can't see it being released on a single. A bit of a wet kipper with this song, some people may think differently though.
Rating = 2 out of 5

<My views have drastically changed on this particular track! It has one of the best base lines I personally have ever heard! 'Wet kipper'? Where the hell did I get that from. This is basically a cool Joke'y typical Eminem tune. Revised rating 4 out of 5>

4.Cleanin out my Closet*****
This is a great song and is a outlet for Marshall to 'clean out his closet' and get all his feelings out in the open and put it all behind him. He talks about his mother all the way through the song and to a lesser exent Kim, his Ex-Wife. Its a very personal song about his feelings much like The way I am from his second Album. You can see how much he really dis-likes his mother when he says "Halies gettin so big now, you should see her, she's beautiful. But you'll never see her, she won't even be at your funeral!"
He also explains how his mother told him for most of his life that he had Munchausen's syndrome and once wished that he was dead instead of his cousin Ronnie. Some people would see this song as him having a go at his mum, but I think it goes much deeper than that.
One of my favorites off the album and a possible candidate for a single. It gets to grips with his problems and some people may be able to relate to him.
Rating = 4 out of 5

<As I estimated it did come out as a single and did quite well. Still a grat song but as with a lot of released songs can get a bit tiresome. Still a 4 out of 5>

5.Square Dance***
To be perfectly honest I haven't listened to this song much at all. The title describes the song perfectly, as the chorus sounds very much like a square dance for example containing a lot of 'Do Se Do'ing and yokel-ish accents. I am yet to find the theme behind this one but it is a pretty good song. Sadly not one of my favorites, but one of my friends likes it a lot so its a split decision.
Rating = 3 out of 5

<I have listened to this one quite a lot and its again one of my firm favorites from the album. The theme of quite a lot of the song is about being drafted into the war against Osama. Features X-ibit, Dre and the king Busta Rhymes to name but a few people. Revised Rating 4 out of 5>

6. The Kiss
Another 'Skit' this time re-enacting the time when Slim caught Kim kissing some other guy and threatend him with a empty gun. It was later all over the news and he had to go through a court case in which I think he got some sort of scentence. Speaking of Court cases, did you hear about Gareth Gates past Criminal Record? He was given 8 years for armed robbery but only served 4 cause he couldn't finish his scentence! Hahaha, sorry couldn't resist.

<Still the same and I still love the joke. Speaking of Jail did you hear Lisa Riley had been arrested last week? She was caught with ten tonne of crack down her pants. He he ha ha. Once again, couldn't resist.>

7.Soldier***
Once again not a most listened to track on my CD although the times I have heard it I liked it quite a lot. It could be likened to Criminal from his last album as the theme is much the same and it does sound like a slower version of it. I can't see it being released, but then again I wouldn't be that surprised.
Rating = 3 Out of 5

<Listened to it more, but I haven't changed my mind on the verdict. A good song, nothing special. a bit too serious for me. Still a 3 out of 5>

8.Say Goodbye to Hollywood****
The next real quality song on the album. The beggining starts as if it is a prequel for Kim from the last album, which was a prequel to Bonnie and Clyde 98 from his first album, Its ok to totally not understand that bit, you have to be a hardent fan. I think the theme behind this is that he has been accepted into this Hollywood lifestyle and he doesn't really think he should have been, although I could be, and probly am wrong. A really good song from this album and a possible release on single.
Rating = 4 out of 5

<Not yet been released. Its actually about him not fitting into hollywood anymore because of his attitude, so shows how wrong I was. Still like this song but perhaps not as much. But I won't be tight. Still 4 out of 5>

9.Drips (Feat. Obie Trice)*
This is a really vulgar song and to be honest I hate it. It just pushes the limits to far and always gets skipped when I listen to the album. There are many lines that sum up why I hate this song, but I can just use this one to give you a jist "She foamin at the lips, the one between them hips, pubic hairs lookin like some sour cream dip" This is just taking it too far and even though is a giggle at first, is it what you want to be listening to? No, Definatly not. The only redeeming factor is that the chorus is again quite catchy.
Rating = 1 Out of 5

<Possibly the biggest turn around in the history of my mucic listening life! This is a REALLY good song, and even though it might have vulgar lyrics it has a strong message and is extremely catchy! The whole song is talking about HIV, Aids and not having unprotected sex. Maybe this is the way to get this message across to the kids! Greatly improved 5 out of 5!!!>

10.Without Me****
This is the song most of you will have heard. It has just been released on single and has a video on most of the music channels. It got to number 1 and I'm not sure as to weather its still there (I'm very behind at the moment) The best quote in this song has got to be "Moby, you can get stamped by Obie, you 36 year old bald headed F*g, Blow me! You don't know me, your too old, let go its over..No body listens to Techno!"
I can't say much about this that you won't already know. Its a quality song but with it being his first release it could be run into the ground slightly.
Rating = 4 Out of 5

<Again as predicted it was run into the ground, but then again I still like it. Its still got some of its charm, even if its just for the 'osama' part at the end. Same score: 4 out of 5>

11.Paul Rosenburg
Another 'Skit' about someone taking their gun into the public and shooting it. Don't ask me because I really have no clue at all!

<Still don't know what this is all about>

12.Sing for the Moment*****
This is my personal Joint favorite track on the album. Its a Rock song and has a chorus sang by none other than Steve Tyler from rock band Aerosmith! It makes a point of Eminem being so popular even though he is always in trouble with the law. The chorus is my favorite bit and goes as follows "Sing with me, Sing for the year/ Sing for the laughter/ Sing for the tear/ Sing it with me/Just for today/Maybe tomorrow/ The good lord will take you away" It makes a nice change from all the hip-hop tracks before it. I could see it being released and definatly going to number one!
Rating = 5 Out of 5

<Oh yeah! I was right! Its just been released as I write this and I fully expect it to storm the charts. Still love this song! Still 5 out of 5.......Still top of the pops.(Couldn't resist...sorry)>

13.Superman****
Another great song. It has to be about 3rd or 4th in my rankings on this album. The topic is how he handles women now he is single and famous. One verse explains how they react to them and how he feels about this. The best part of the song is this line "But I do kno one thing tho/ Bitches they come they go/Saturday through sunday, monday monday through Sunday Yo/ Maybe I'll love you one day/ maybe we'll someday grow, till then just sit your drunk @$$ on that F*[k!*G runway Ho!"
I think this song Is quality and on any other album would probably be the best, but on an album of this standards it is only placed 3rd or 4th.
Rating = 4 Out of 5

<This song actually includes a talented artiste named Dina Rae who has been nicknamed 'Track 13 girl' as she has appeared in all 3 track 13's off eminems 3 albums. Once again I still like this song and continue to listen to it. Remains a 4 out of 5>

14.Hailies Song*****
This has to be the best song on the album and even though I know I said it was joint with track 12 I think this one may just tip it it into the lead. It is not a rap song, not a Rock Song and not a hardcore dance anthem. Its a plain song. In the style of, Dare I say it, a band like Westlife. Don't let this put you off though because it is pure quality. You can see how much he really cares for his daughter and is written to celibrate getting sole custardy of his little girl! It begins with a sad feeling because he is feeling depressed, then he thinks of his little girl and it helps him through the more difficult periods of his life.
The best part of this song is the chorus, which goes something like this "Sometimes I think I'm Crazy, I'M CRAZY, OH SO CRAZY! WHY AM I HERE? AM I JUS WASTING MY TIME? But then I see my baby, SUDDENLY I'M NOT CRAZY! IT ALL MAKES SENCE WHEN I LOOK INTO HER EYES! Sometimes it feels like, the worlds on my shoulders. Everyone's leaning on me. Cause sometimes it feels like the worlds almost over, but then she comes back to me." Although it changes each time with the mood of the song.
A clear leader on the album and I will honestly be surprised if it doesn't get released because it is such a great song!
Rating = 5 Out of 5(If only there was a higher score)

<Still not been released but its definatly still holding my number one of the album. I said if only there was a higher score, well DAMN IT I'm making one!!!! 6 out of 5!!!!!!>

15.Steve Burman
'Skit' again! If you are a fan of Eminem's you will recognise this guy from his last album. He basically Rips the crap out of Slim on the last album, saying a record label told him to shove the record up his ass. On this album it seems to be going the same way so Slim shoots him, but it turns out he actually likes the new album. Pointless Really....Unless its true!

<Yyup you guessed it, its still the same. Don't think it was true>

16.When the music Stops**
This song includes the other members of D12, which in my opinion basically flopped. Purple 'Hills' (or pills if you have the real version) was a brilliant song with a catchy tune, but sadly thats where D12 began and sadly ended. Fight Music fell flat on its face even though it was fairly good. This song is pretty good as D12 go, it sounds a lot like a mixture of Amityville and Under the Influence from the last album, but sadly its a mix of the bad parts. Not really any memorable comments. Not the best song he's done to be honest.
Rating = 2 Out of 5

<Still don't really rate this song, but I have come to like it slightly more than I did. Sadly still a 2 out of 5 though>

17.Say what you say***
This one features Dre and is a classic Eminem-Dre rap with them taking it in turns to rap about something thats bothering them. The clear cut comment that has to be mentioned is from Dre "Over eighty million records sold and I don't have to do it with ten or eleven year olds!" when he is talking about N*Sync. The chorus sadly lets the song down a bit and drops it from being a possible best runner to a CD filler.
Rating = 3 Out of 5

<Changed my views again folks. I like this one a little better, not much but a little. I'm not sure about that N*sync comment either, sheringham may be right in his assumptions(See comments). Still a 3 out of 5>

18.Till I Collapse****
Another brilliant song featuring the big man of the rap world *Nate Dogg*! He raps alongside Slim and Dre on quite a few great songs, Next episode to name just one. I personally like this song, because it has a catchy chorus again and a good beat in the background. I personally like songs with guest rappers in them and this is no exeption. If you like Nate then you will probably like this song. Nothing more to say on the song other than a top runner.
Rating = 4 Out of 5

<I still think exactly what I said there. Wicked song, well worth a listen......Deano! Jus give the dude a chance!!! Upgraded to 4.5 out of 5>

19.My Dad's Gone Crazy
Ok, Remember I just this second said I like songs with guest rappers in it? Well this is the exeption. Slim has finally launched his daughters Singing career in this as she joins in with the chorus. Even though it is a great song it loses a point because she sings and she honestly is quite annoying in it. Nothing against her, but she is just a bit annoying. It is a quality song again though and so at least deserves 4.
Rating = 4 Out of 5

<I still think his daughter is highly annoying but its a good song none the less and deserves a 5 I suppose. 5 out of 5>

20.Curtains Close
This is the last 'Skit' and is honestly one of the funniest things I have ever heard! If you have heard the last album you will Know Ken Kaniff features on there. Well he comes back on the end of here with his own personal version of Without me. It is really a funny sketch and a great way to finish the album!

<Still really funny. What more needs to be said?>

************************************
Ok so thats a run down of each track, sorry some are a bit brief, but there is nothing to say about some of them.
Now, Onto other good points about this album. Sadly there are no pictures or games of any sort on the disk but inside the little booklet that comes in the front there are the origional lyrics sheets for the songs so you can sing along with all your favorites or simply find out some of the lyrics if you can't quite make them out.
All in all I think this album will be a huge seller and as far as I can tell already is as I had to go to 3 different stores to get a copy. Is it better than his other two albums? At the moment I can't really answer this because I have grown fond of those and not listened to this one nearly half as much.

<After rigarous listening I can safely say that this album JUST tips the lot as best of the three. It was a close cut thing though but in the end I do prefer this one!>

************************************
HEY WAIT! DOWN HERE!
Now this might seem like a stupid idea, but I am going to try it anyway. Have you heard this album? Have you heard some tracks off this album? I am going to make this a INTERACTIVE opinion! Thats right, if you have heard this or any of the tracks simply tell me your top 3 songs in the comments on this opinion. In 1 months time I will then Edit this opinion with the results and hopefully get the Ciao'ers top 5 from this album!
(**I'm not really expecting much to come of this, but please try and prove me wrong**)

<Looks like I was on fire with this review as I predicted it didn't do that well....in fact it fell faster than a piece of salad on Rick wallers plate! Not one single person!!!!! Oh well, I'll keep on pioneering:P>

Thankyou for reading. Hope you enjoyed it and I hope you can and will participate in the Interactive opinion!

<Same thing really. Thankyou for reading the update even though you really didn't have to

Peace out
