I am an avid fan of Eminem and have been for a long while, i have all of his previous albums and they just keep getting better and better.

Now i'm sure there are people out there who have their doubts about his lyrics and language, the only thing i can say to these people is listen to the lyrics, i mean really LISTEN to the lyrics

I am not a fan of many other rappers and am not a fan of the rap genre particularly, i have always been brought up on angry bands with a stoy to tell such as Stiff Little Fingers etc.

This is why Eminem is so good as he really has a story to tell and it go's a lot deeper than shooting people and being nasty to women. this is especially true with this album, there are many songs on the album which tell a story about the society we live in today, covering various topics from the Iraq crisis to the current state of the music industry

I would urge any music fan to go out an buy it just to try it, if you don't like it give it to a nephew or neice, but i honestly believe there will be no need!

It is clearly noticable how Eminem's style has matured over the last four albums, he started off very much as an angry man who went for the shock tactics, swearing wherever possible and generally upsetting as many people as possible, but it worked, it made him famous, then he started to show his true talent and this is how we end up at The Eminem Show, he doesn't need to be controversial anymore, just tell the people what he thinks.

The variety of different sounds available on the album are impressive, ranging from the very poppy 'Without Me' and 'Business' to the dark and thought provoking 'Soldier'. My favourite track on the album is definately 'When the Music Stops', D-12 feature on this track and it tells the story of how being in the 'rap game' changes friends, family etc. the title of the song refers to that they're surrounded by fans and 'friends' but who is going to be there 'when the music stops'

The opening to 'White America' has Eminem talking over a beat and includes the lines "the women and men who have broke their necks for the freedom of speech the United States governement has sworn to uphold, or so we're told", this song really takes on the whole Bush administration, and although i don't know too much about America, being English, i understand all of the lyrics and am thoroughly impressed the way he makes the words fit a beat, make sense, and even ryhme!!

All of the songs follow the great opening of 'White America' and it ends with 'My Dad's Gone Crazy' in which Hallie-Jade (Eminems Daughter) sings part of the chourus with him, this is a funny song, must be listened too, the line that sums up the song and possibly the whole album is "I don't blame you, i wouldn't let Hallie listen to me neither" which just shows that what he does is for a living, he doesn't believe in the stuff he raps about, he's just making some money using the extreme talent he has recieved.

From a sound point of view it is not the sort of music you have on in the background at the family Christmas dinner, but if you want to listen to some real emotion and impressive rhyming then this is for you.

I have had this album since its release and it still features heavily on my C.D player, and i believe i will still be listening to it for a long time yet!!
