“Emotions” dropped in 1991 as the second alum from the Pop and R&B singer Mariah Carey. It was seen to receive less promotion than her first effort (which came a year earlier) but sees that she was able to come up with singles that had the potential to be taken out-of-context and still do big things (as the titular track, in particular, was able to do) with more danceable elements added to the mix with the dominance of ballads the first time around.

1. “Emotions”

She kick off the album with a freaky little dance cut that immediately livens up the atmosphere . You find that with it she is able to effectively bring together her strengths in the R&B field to the more conventional Pop material for a tune that does it all. In addition to this her broad range of vocals (particularly at the high end) is made to be a main driving force of the song that was very much on-trend for the time.

**Five Stars**

2. “And You Don’t Remember”

There is a sudden change to the music as it quickly shifts from a high right down towards something with a much more calming pace to it as she delivers a ballad. I felt that she gave a great performance here as she comes in with one which has her fighting with the fact that the relationship she has with her man has fallen apart and as a result she had to express it here with a powerful display such as this one.

**Four Stars**

3. “Can’t Let Go”

She brings more quality material here as you see that with this one she appears to sing what sounds like a sequel to the song that came before it, and one that stood as a successful single for her as you find that here she carries through some of the same themes as she fights her emotions and tries to get her ex out of her mind, but unsuccessfully because just how much they had done together and how it has led to her having to put together something like this.

**Five Stars**

4. “Make It Happen”

She moves it right on here and you are bound to notice that right off the first seconds of the ten that you’ve got a much more funky composition being thrown in your face here as she gets down to it and does something that brings through the New Jack Swing sounds that were seen to be incorporated into all of the dance tracks on her debut. It is a fly cut and one that really does its job well.

**Five Stars**

5. “If It’s Over”

You see that she returns back to where she just left for a while as she is seen to lower the pace dramatically with Walter Afanasieff’s guidance and with this you find that you are made to, rather uncomfortably, switch to adapt to a massive switch in the pace that pulls you out and confuses it. I felt that her delivery was strong, but having it placed where it was seem a little odd and lost its quality.

**Three Stars**

6. “You’re So Cold”

I felt that this one stood out as the best non-single to be placed on the album as you see that here she comes out with a great vocal performance and once again shows just how far her voice can be taken as she emotively sings a capella to kick it off before she jumps on some New Jack Swing beats (ones that this time appear to get much more Hip Hop injected into them) and it makes for a straight banger as a result.

**Five Stars**

7. “So Blessed”

You go another sudden change to the pace as she gets back to the ballad work here and comes out with a tune that gets her moving back towards the unimpressive end of things as you see that she isn’t really able to do that well in really bringing in the listener as she expresses the song and so it seems like a bit of a waste 9considering the potential that she has and how far she could have taken it).

**Three Stars**

8. “To Be Around You”

Here she kicks another fly jam as she gets back tot he dance-based material again and gets the party atmosphere back into the thing to counter the near-lifelessness that came of the track prior to it. It is another of the tunes that manage to get her working at her extremely high standard, and one that few would be able to get close to eventually matching (with her raw singing abilities outdoing anyone in the mainstream pop scene of the time)

**Five Stars**

9. “Till The End Of Time”

I felt that this was a tune that required some time to get used to, but you will be hit hard once you finally feel the power that this song has within it as you see that here she brings another ballad to the album and comes out with one that takes some time to build up and so she is able to take out right into the right mood to feel the lyrics as she does an incredibly emotive love song that fits right in here.

**Four Stars**

10. “The Wind”

She ends the album well as you see that new things are tried out as she gets a guitar solo kicking the thing off before she is able to break out into another freaky dance cut that seems to leave the album on a massive high as you are made to feel the massive power that is found within her music and how the strength of her vocals is able to do so much more with it than any others who could have been given the same material.

**Four Stars**

Although a few choices in the ordering seemed a little odd, overall, this is clearly a strong album form the singer and has her taking what she had brought in her debut to a new level by bringing in more of the livelier elements to the forefront and making sure that it would enable more to take notice of the epic ballads which truly make the most of the power her vocals have within them.

Excellent review i will be back with a E , great in depth description of each song "that is not a easy thing to do" as for price and where to buy it. I added it to my reviews because others asked but in my opinion its not that big a deal. if your intrigued enough to buy something you usually look for the place and price yourself anyway.
