Advantages: unforgetable classics, guaranteed to make you all soppy Disadvantages: they aren't around any more!

What to say about this album... well although Wet Wet Wet are not together any longer, this CD just seems to be a testiment to all the timeless classics that were produced by on the best bands of the 80's and early 90's. Not one song on this CD is a duff one - and I think I can honestly say that. Try saying that about most albums these days! ...Mitchell, Tommy Cunningham and of course Marti Pellow. Not one song on this CD is a duff one - and I think I can honestly say that. Try saying that about most albums these days!
Wet Wet Wet were Graeme Clark, Neil Mitchell, Tommy Cunningham and of course Marti Pellow. From their first gig ing Glasgows Multi Media Club, and were seen by head of Rough Trade Records, Jeff Travis. Under their own record label, Precious Organisation, they were signed.
What followed were various singles being released, mostly off their own back though, I believe. In their time they released 5 other albums to this one. 'Popped in Souled Out' reached no 1 in 1987. 'The Memphis Seasons' reached 3rd in 1998. 'Holding back the river' reached 2nd in the charts in 1989. 'High on the happy side' reached no 1 in 1992, and 'Live at Royal Albert Hall' reached position 10 in 1993.
Now for the tracks on this CD :
1. Wishing I was lucky 2. Sweet little mystery 3. Angel eyes 4. Temptation 5. With a little help from my friends 6. Sweet surrender 7. Broke away 8. Hold back the river 9. Stay with me heartache 10. This time 11. Make it tonight 12. Put the light on 13. Goodnight girl 14. More than love 15. Lip service 16. Blue for you 17. Shed a tear 18. Cold, cold heart
What with such a huge array of their classics, everyone must have heard of at least 6 of those!
Among my favorites are 'Angle eyes', 'Sweet surrender', 'Broke away', 'Stay with me heartache', 'This time', 'Put the light on' and 'More than love' (that one is a particular favourite). They always seems to touch me when I listen to them.
Although Wet Wet Wet recently broke up, Marti Pellow has ben doing solo tours. I don't know if he'll be scoming down south though! According to my fiancée, his favourite gig was at Bournemouth, but I don't know how accurate that is. I'm glad he hasn't given up completely. He has one of the best singing voices I've every heard.
All the tracks are brilliant, and most of them bring back some really nice memories. Buy this album. Make yourself some memories. I have, and don't think they would've been the same if I hadn't had this album in my collection.
You should be able to pick this almbum up for around £5 - £10 now. So you have no excuse not to!

Review of End Of Part One - Greatest Hits - Wet Wet Wet
Advantages: some great tracks Disadvantages: some are too samet
...broke the band up.
End of Part One Their greatest hits (there never was a part 2) was released in 1993 and includes all he singles taken of the albums Popped In Sold Out, Holding Back the River and High On the Happy Side. It also included as the charity singles With A Little Help From my friends and Blue For You and two new tracks for the album Cold Cold Heart and Shed A Tear
What is the music like?
The music is a real mix. There are a few types ... ...Wishing I was Lucky, Lip Service and Sweet Little Mystery. I often like these as they have energy. The second type is their more well known ballads. These can be good especially live but tracks like Good Night Girl are overrated. The problem with this album is that only singles are featured whilst album tracks were omitted. The other problem is the songs are n all Hits. Put the light on did not even get into the top 40. A shame as it is a good song.

Advantages: Some good pop songs Disadvantages: Indecipherable lyrics in some places
...and this is a disappointing end to this album. However, it does reflect how far the band had got in their career at this particular time and they have had a very long career!
I suspect that another Wet, Wet, Wet "Hits" collection will be on its way soon, if only to add the material from 1993-1997.
The album has a montage of the band's faces, and they seem to be in water, funnily enough...
Not a very good album cover at all. ...

Advantages: Includes 5 of their all time great tracks. Disadvantages: Sleeve insert only has lyrics for two of the 18 tracks.
Formed in the 1980s and hailing from Clydebank in Scotland Wet Wet Wet had a number of hits in the British charts and all around the world. The band comprises Marti Pellow (vocals), Tommy Cunningham (drums, vocals), Graeme Clark (bass, vocals) and Neil Mitchell (keyboards, vocals). A fifth, unofficial member, Graeme Duffin (lead guitar, vocals), has been with them since 1983. This album is their best in my opinion. The only notable exception is that ... ...many memorable tracks including "Wishing I Was Lucky", "Sweet Little Mystery", "Angel Eyes" and "Goodnight Girl" It also has the very good cover of The Beatles "With A Little Help From My Friends" which was released as a charity single for the UK charity Childline which offers young children a confidential counselling service. Marti Pellow's lead vocals are very distinctive and unique so much so that he is recognised as being one of the hardest singers ...

Advantages: there are four goods songs on here Disadvantages: and the rest is dull
Do you remember Wet Wet Wet? And that marti Pellow bloke? Do you remember them sitting at the top of the charts with that dreadful Love Is All Around song from Four Weddings and a Funeral for what was alsmot half a year? Dooyoo? Because I dug this record out of my collection the other day and gave it the once over and was quite pleasantly surprised. Dont get me wrong, Wet Wet Wet had their day and, in addition to having a really crap name, they made ... ...few really good songs on here that make it a bit more than the usual Greatest Hits comilation. 'Wishin Well', in spite of having a very strange vidoe, comes across as an intersting song well written and with a great vocal. Tempatation is another goodie, and Lip Service still stands strong as a pop song today, even after all that has changed in the last 10 years. Oh dont panic, there is still an awful lot of 80's cheesy dross, and whilst Pellow's ...

Marti Pellows – what a gorgeous voice!!
I am always a bit scared of buying a CD with lots of tracks that I have not heard before for the sake of getting the tracks I love. Well I was not disappointed with this Cd. Every track was incredible. At first I did not think I would enjoy the last few tracks as they were different from Temptation and Sweet Little Mystery etc. But when I actually listened to them I was sold.
It is good to hear people using ...
