I've been a Ramones fan for over 20 years and have enjoyed all their albums apart from the last two or three when they really should have called it a day!
This album is unlike any of the rest with the exception maybe of Pleasant Dreams which was also slated at the time. There are some really good songs on this album such as 'Danny says' a real slow builder and the better known songs like 'Baby I love you' and 'Rock 'n' Roll High school' and 'Rock 'n' Roll radio'. The Phil Spector influence is evident throughout as the band tried for a more commercial sound.
I think this album has been sadly underrated over the years and is well worth a listen especially now that it has been re-mastered and you can finally here the sound Spector was striving for. If you like your Ramones loud and fast then maybe you should avoid this one.
If however you're a fan of good quality pop then I can recommend this album especially now that it has been re-mastered and 7 bonus tracks added
