I’ve just landed myself a new job and one present I received on leaving my old job was a great big tub of Cadburys Miniature Hero’s and whilst I sit down here at my computer about to tuck into them. …I’ll tell you all about them!
Cadburys Miniature Hero’s are a purple cardboard tub full of all your favourite chocolate bars put inside a shrinking machine and zapped down into little mini bite sized bars.
I’m sure many of you are familiar with all the different kinds of Cadburys chocolate bars so I won’t go into too much detail about taste but will give you a little description about each of them. Just to remind myself I guess I'll have to have one of each as I go on.
So, here’s what you get in the tub:
Fudge – Chocolate covered pieces of fudge.
Picnic – Crunchy puffed ...
Advantages: Excellent backing tracks, competent vocals, a couple of strong pop hits Disadvantages: Not much in the way of soul, some dull tracks, all rather dated now
mind that in 1972 "The Black & White Minstrel Show" was still one of the top rated TV shows, which tells you something about the era.
The Pearls were signed to the Bell label ? which had some hugely popular acts on their roster including the Bay City Rollers, Barry Blue, David Cassidy and Gary Glitter. The UK arm of the label focused mainly on commercial pop and the Pearls fitted into this perfectly. Interestingly the US arm tended to focus more on soul music.

At a local Car boot sale there was just under a dozen of the Dolls House and Miniature Scene magazines in a pile all marked at 10p each !
