Enrico Caruso - (The) Digital Comeback

Advantages: Classic recordings from a master of his trade.
Disadvantages: Mono recordings, Crackly in parts.

...When I consider classical music, I am always reminded of a particular Steptoe and Son episode. Harold, the intellectual snob is trying to play his hotch potch of classical records, much to his father's annoyance. As Harold tells his father 'music don't only sooth the savage breast, it gives you bleeding headache' These days most of us ordinary folk enjoy some classical music as something which is acceptable and not out of the ordinary at least. As I have already said in a previous review our music collection spans many styles and decades offering something for every mood and taste. Among Hubby's classical recordings I came across 'Caruso -The Greatest Tenor in the World!', which I guess he was at one time. I suppose Caruso was the Pavarotti of his day. ...---Intro--- Upon purchase of this album there was a big lime green sticker telling me it was the 'Hardcore album of the Year'. This should be good hopefully… Comeback Kid is a band from Winnipeg, Canada. Formed in 2002 they started just as a bit of fun. Upon release of an EP, they gained such a good response that they began touring. They released their first album 'Turn it Around' and appeared at shows such as Hellfest and began touring with some bigger named hardcore bands. They describe themselves as sounding like Good Riddance, Anthrax and Nirvana. Advantages: Smokie at their best
Disadvantages: Absolutely none

...30 years ago Smokie had their first big hit "If You Think You Know How To Love Me" and since then have lived the rollercoaster ride thats part of being in a famous band.They've had their ups and a lot of downs and are still making it to the top of the Charts across Europe and Scandinavia despite losing their original lead vocalist Chris Norman,They re-formed a few years later to help drive a benefit concert for the families of the victims of the Bradford City Football Club Fire Disaster in 1986.
