Advantages: Brilliant sounding, stirs the imagination Disadvantages: Not for anyone afraid of classical music
...There are some people who think that music from a movie soundtrack isn't going to be any good without the dramatic backdrop of a raging battle or a lingering kiss.
Well, not the case with the Narnia soundtrack. The main theme in itself is amazing, filled with built up suspense and gorgeous sounds.
The best track is quite possibly one titled Battle. As the name suggests, it is the same song which plays during the big battle between the witch and the Narnians.
This is long, yet you are enraptured from start to finish. It begins quitely, then is built up, tension is released, only for the same process to reoccur several times, never boring the listener.
For anyone who ever thought classical, movie soundtrack music was no good has never heard this cd before. A must buy....

Advantages: Original-CHEAP!!! Disadvantages: Possibly too wierd....
...The opening track "Lovely Head" is a melody based song about a rising feeling that could be happiness, anger or love. To be honest the lyrics are overly obscure and off any sort of point. The bit everyone will know is a whistled tune that is surprisingly well placed, (used in a One2One advertisement a year or two ago). Fortunately, her effortless vocal range seduced me into the chorus and the lyrics become irrelevant. As the track moved on I began to look around for the White Witch and the wardrobe from which I entered this strange world.
The next track "Paper Bag" sees the return of the Narnia-esque land-covered-in-snow effect that was produced in "Lovely Head". "Paper Bag" is a unique blend of twanging guitars and plucked harp sounds mixed with opposing soft blends of brushed drums, lightly treading synths and Goldfrapp singing...

Advantages: Very beautiful in terms of artwork, vocals and instruments Disadvantages: Not commercially successful but who cares anyway?
...being the unheard b-side or future song "Together Again." A very classical, dark song that relates to the film. Had this song been accepted by Disney it would have made Evanescence deadline all over worldwide like they did with the film "Daredevil," with the songs "Bring Me To Life," and "My Immortal."
This means that "Together Again" could have made it on to the album had Disney accepted this wish, thus both songs like "Bring Me To Life," and "My Immortal" would have been commercially released as singles with their very own music videos. But like Lee said its more great stuff for the album. The song starts off as the movement of a train, with the drums and guitars acting as footsteps in some unknown place. It was possibly written for the aftermath of the entering into Narnia. You can see this from the sound and lyrics of the song...
