...INTRODUCTION
The end of the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion has always been one of the most controversial and hard to accept features of the series. As the grand culmination of Episode 24 came to its shattering conclusion, the remaining two episodessurprised and outraged just about everybody. With money running low, the studio didn't have the resources to finish the series as planned, which prompted the director to make a grand summary of the series and all of the psychological questions raised there instead. However, instead of new animation, the two episodes mostly consisted of still images, stock footage, as well as different techniques of sketches, watercolour paintings and imposed photos. The epic conclusion everybody was expecting caused many fans to fall flat on their face and be extremely discontented with how...

Advantages: The album cover and that this is the best debut album in ages. Disadvantages: None - well maybe it is a bit short
...brilliantly supported by the rhythm and bass guitars. The lyrics are more spoken than sung and the guitar solo in the middle is pretty outstanding.
3) Soma.
For the litany boffins out there the title is name of the population-controlling drug in the classic (Brave New World). They seem to have gone for hypnotic druggy sound (hence the title) – it doesn’t really work in my opinion but it’s a brave stab with experimentation.

5) Someday.
The song is slightly subdued compared to its predecessor and is probably all the more better for it. The guitar riffs are outstanding and the chorus is the work of a genius. Overall...

...If you have never heard of The Living End, please sit tight as I introduce you to one of the most talented rock bands I have ever heard. The Living End (a 3-piece from Australia) are refreshing as unlike so many bands these days the focus really does seem to be on the music. There are strong guitar parts and bass lines you can actually hear (the bass player plays a double bass rather than a bass guitar) on every song, and pure instrumental tracks that don’t just sound like a token afterthought. They really are fantastic musicians who don’t need to hide behind pretty, thoughtful lyrics, although they do have some great lyrics as well. The lead singer finds his voice somewhere between singing and shouting, masculine without being noisy and hurting your head. It seems to me like this is a band who actually have something to say...
