Advantages: classics redone in a unique fashion Disadvantages: none
...played with the chieftains, I began to like Irish music, and found some similarity with some Siberian peoples' music<<, namely a similar pentatonic scale, free rythm in slow songs, and descriptions of nature, as he would later tell me.
'Toccata' by PaulMauriat comes as a dreamy interlude, light and tender, as if carried on a fine warm summer wind. It might well be the most personal song on the album, for the liner notes read: >>When I was little boy, this melody of French composer and conductor was playing by his orchestra on Soviet TV and radio every Sunday and that gave us very clear and nice holiday emotions for the whole day. This is kind of connection to that happy time.<< What more is there to say? (-:

Advantages: Paul Gilbert's pop side Disadvantages: not much fast, crazy guitar playing
...This album shows alot of Paul Gilbert's pop side and doesn't involve much of the carzy, fast guitar playing that Paul Gilbert is known for. After leaving Mr. Big (Paul's previous band with Eric Martin, Pat Torpey and Billy Sheehan) Paul decided to start a solo career and he came up with this album. Some fans were dissapointed at the lack of fast guitar playing that this album had to offer but many were pleased to see another side to Gilbert's musical influence. This album was very influenced by bands such as The Beatles and shows a side of Gilbert that presents song writing as one of his favourite things along with his fast paced guitar rock style. All in all, a good album to a different side of Paul Gilbert....

Advantages: Cool trendy mix of music Disadvantages: None
...Paul Van Dyk is nothing short of a legend, for years Paul has managed to maintain the secret to striking a good balance between calm chilled music to relax to and hard fast club music. Paul appears in Cream fields in Merseyside and has wow’s many people around the world.
No matter how many times he takes and remixes a track he can always make it sound more original every time and his skills as a DJ are sure to leave you listening to the same track and mix with out getting bored
Paul is one of few people who DJ that can mix music with the sound of a piano the music that he creates in the CD like many others in nothing short of a work of art I feel that some of his music is more urban dance if you see where I am coming from. There is so much feeling put into every beat of the music he creates Paul Van Dyk is my most favorite DJ...
