overlooked group in this country, Journey had the largest part of their success in the U.S, racking up eight albums to their name (including a Greatest Hits). But the one I want to talk about is their 1981 release ?Escape? which has recently been digitally remastered for the CD market. THE SOUND In order to fully appreciate the ?Journey? sound, you have to be aware of the late 70s / early 80s music scene in general. What you have to remember is that: Punk was on the wane, Heavy Metal was still the preserve of Iron Maiden/Black Sabbath etc, Abba was still popular and New Romance was about to be born. All this turmoil meant that groups such as Toto and Journey did not fit a niche market with there melodious rock vibe and real lyrics. Review of Escape [Remastered] - Journey

Escapism . .

Advantages: Escapism, cheap, not to be taken too seriously.
Disadvantages: Slightly dated, not that believable.

In this review, the plot will not be given away, you may read every word without fear of it being spoilt. (I may regret this) Escape to Athena, a very good war film, actually released on the 6th of June (D day) but in 1974. The cast consists of :- Anthony Valentine Claudia Cardinale David Niven Elliott Gould Roger Moore Stefanie Powers Telly Savalas There are of course many other actors in this film, plus the obligatory extras without whom productions like this would not be possible. The film carries a PG rating, which was probably right for the sevebties, but of course times move on, and I tend to think there is nothing in this movie, that would concern a parent. The Great Escape

Advantages: Thrilling adventure from the past
Disadvantages: none

Director and producer: John Sturges Writers: James Clavell, W.R. Burnett and Paul Brickhill Stars: Steve McQueen, James Garner, Richard Attenborough, James Coburn, Charles Bronson and Donald Pleasence Released in the summer of 1963 this near three hour movie, based on some true events, depicts the lives of many Prisoners of War incarcerated in a German POW camp, Stalag Luft III, during the second world war, revealing the many escapes which were planned and executed, sometimes successfully, but mostly failures?
