INTRODUCTION

I’ll be honest with all of you: I’ve heard very little of Robbie Williams’ ... ...while I was in England. Ironically, I arrived in Newquay soon after “Escapology” (his fifth album) was released and selling like hotcakes across the country. One day I was in a pub with some friends who were in the Royal Air Force and one of them made a joke about Williams which made me ask the question: “Is he popular here?” As you would expect, they were laughing and got a bit cheeky when they said, “Well, sort of, mate!” I had no idea that Williams ...

Advantages: Some very enlightening songs with a vast array of styles Disadvantages: Some lyrics are brutually honest and made me slightly uncomfortable at times
I defy anyone to tell me that they haven't heard of Robbie Williams. Former member of the hugely successful boy band, Take That, the cheeky chappy from Manchester left in 1995 to go solo. He went on to record one of the most popular songs (especially at Weddings) of all time: 'Angels'.
'Escapology' is his 6th Studio album (although arguably it's his 5th, as the album before this one is made up of songs from the Rat Pack 'Swing When You're Winning') ... ...was sounding altogether better than anything he had released so far. He had a phenomenally successful song under his belt ('Angels') as well as hugely popular collaboration with Kylie Minogue on 'Kids' (You will NEVER guess what that song is really about).
The album, penned by himself and Guy Chambers (who he famously ditched after, as Williams wanted 'more' credit, for it was he who made 'Angels' not Chambers...so he says.) reached number 1 in ...

...well wide of the mark. Escapology ended 2002 as the best selling album of the year in the UK having sold over 1.4 million copies. It went on to sell more than 2 million copies and became classified 6x platinum by the BPI taking Escapology to the dizzy heights of 60th best selling album in UK history.
In 2003 on the back of this album began Robbie’s world tour and he was to perform 3 gigs at Knebworth which between them attracted 375,000 fans which ... ...to this album on a good few occasions and having weighed up the facts that surround it I feel Robbie knew exactly where he was going and what he was doing with this album and that it was indeed genius and not madness that surrounded the lyrics.
Price and availability
Being a best selling album this one has held its price a bit better than a lot of albums do and can still set you back as much as £6.99 but it can be found various places online for ...

Lost in a Monsoon Review ofEscapology [PA] - Robbie Williamsby
nathaninnit
Advantages: Singles releases from the album are what Robbie does best Disadvantages: I can't say much for the rest, a bit messy
...managed 63 in America.
Escapology comes as Robbie's sixth solo album, although the fifth for him to release in the UK, and it was his fifth successive solo album to top the charts. Released in 2002, the album came as Robbie signed a record breaking £80 MILLION contract with record label, EMI. This was a a point in Robbie's career where he was having much more of an infulence in the songs he was singing, lending a hand in writing them, and whilst ... ...By the end of 2002, Escapology was the best selling album of the year in the UK selling 1.4million copies, and then by the end of the following year it had sold nearly 2 million copies. This made it the 60th best selling album in UK history. But it's all well and good to say at what point Robbie was at in his career, how does it actually sound? Does it stand the test of time being about 5 years old? Lets find out. HOW PECULIAR - "Rub me rub me right ...

How peculiar Review ofEscapology [PA] - Robbie Williamsby
Smiley_Scarly
Advantages: Twelve amazingly great songs Disadvantages: One dodgy track and one that I just can't stand!
Robbie Williams. Should I really bother with this album explaining who the singer is? Maybe some would say not, as we can assume everyone knows, but hey assumptions can be wrong. Robbie Williams was a member of a massive boy band called Take That. He left, then they split. From Take that, most people, I reckon, expected the main singer - Gary Barlow - to do the best, but in fact not one member of Take that has had a better career that Rob. He had ... ...a few more and then in 2002, he had this album, which was amazing, I have to say, hence why I am writing a review of it. He is a pop singer, and one of Britain's biggest, and I believe he has an incredible voice, though at times it doesn't come across so well on some songs. Anyway, onto the album.
So, I'm going to do my usual and run through the songs, so I don't miss anything. As I said in the advantages and disadvantages, in my opinion, there ...
