Robbies fifth album in 2003 features a number of reasonably decent songs. I'm not his biggest fan, but there are some really good songs on here, which I think will stand the test of time better... more

Advantages Advantages Some very enlightening songs with a vast array of styles

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some lyrics are brutually honest and made me slightly uncomfortable at times

I defy anyone to tell me that they haven't heard of Robbie Williams. Former member of the hugely successful boy band, Take That, the cheeky chappy from Manchester left in 1995 to go solo. He went on to record one of the most popular songs (especially at Weddings) of all time: 'Angels'. 'Escapology' is his 6th Studio album (although arguably it's his 5th, as the album before this one is made up of songs from the Rat Pack 'Swing When You're Winning') released on November 18th 2002. By this time, Williams music was sounding altogether better than anything he had released so far. He had a ... more

Escapology: The critics called it stale, the fans loved it but then true fans of an artist will often accept inferior quality just because they love the artist so much. What did you think of it? Well here is the album explained along with my opinion, not as a Robbie fan but as a music fan. This was the last album Robbie and Guy Chambers (Robbie’s producer and co-songwriter at the time) ever done together. The critics used terms such as boring, stale, repetitive and mediocre to describe this album but of course Robbie had the last laugh as people, fans or otherwise flocked to buy it. Many fans ... more

Advantages Advantages Singles releases from the album are what Robbie does best

Disadvantages Disadvantages I can't say much for the rest, a bit messy

Where do you start with someone the likes of Robbie Williams? Perhaps he may not be as the most eccentric character we've ever seen on our screens, that would probably go to someone along the lines of pouty-lips Pete Burns, but Robbie (hey I can call him by his first name and pretend I know him on a personal basis) is someone that has etched his name in the history books and is likely to be remembered for his contribution to music in 10 years time, especially if he's still making music then. Afterall, being born in 1974 that only makes him 33 and he seems to have crammed quite a fair bit into ... more

Advantages Advantages Twelve amazingly great songs

Disadvantages Disadvantages One dodgy track and one that I just can't stand!

Robbie Williams. Should I really bother with this album explaining who the singer is? Maybe some would say not, as we can assume everyone knows, but hey assumptions can be wrong. Robbie Williams was a member of a massive boy band called Take That. He left, then they split. From Take that, most people, I reckon, expected the main singer - Gary Barlow - to do the best, but in fact not one member of Take that has had a better career that Rob. He had his first album - Life thru a lens. He had a few more and then in 2002, he had this album, which was amazing, I have to say, hence why I am writing a ... more
