Advantages: chilled out happy tunes Disadvantages: variety of artists not just R&B
I loved this CD collection, it has a fantastic range of artists on it, which allows for the CD to appeal to all diffent types of individuals, it says that it is am essential R&B collection yet i woul say that some of the variety of songs are also Hip Hop and possibly slightly dance tracks. Fantastic for singing along to when your in the car, exspecially in this nice weather. Containes a mix of various tracks from present day, back to the some oldies such as Bobbi Brown, which is always good to hear from time to time. Has some classic's from Destinys child to Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys, this CD collection gives off a positive happy vibe, which is what we all need when the summer is on its way. ...
Advantages: Nice collection Disadvantages: Not a love collection, just good R & B
The essential R & B collection is a good complilation but I wouldnt necessarily call it a love collection. Its the kind of cd to listen to when ironing or driving. Some songs obviously suit the title, love collection and this includes NSYNC,Wayne Wonder,Aaliyah,Alicia Keys,Toni Braxton among others. But Eamon with F**k It? Other songs like R Kelly's hands of time are for reminiscing the good old times and what could have been not whats happening at the moment.Maybe if the songs could have been numbered differently it could have made a difference with the love songs in one cd and the others in the next. Its a good mix of the old and the new with Justin Timberlake,Warren G,2 pac and Dr Dre but I wouldnt consider it when planning a cosy night in.Nice collection though. ...
Advantages: Good songs from good artists Disadvantages: Not exactly a love album
Unlike an album of just one artist, compliation albums are meant to capture the best songs of artists and put them together under one theme. This double album does it well if you go in for the slow, sensual side of R & B.
The first album kicks of with burn by Usher, a very good first choice. In fact, most of the first album reflects some very good artists like Whitney Houston, Destiny's Child, Justin Timberlake and R. Kelly each singing some of their best tracks. Each of the songs are unique in their own right but successfully do fit together well when listening to it as a full album. My only queries for this would be the ending track of Eamon '**** you right back'... Could be just me but this isn't very romantic :p
The second album is also good containing the infamous fugees 'ready or not', old school Bobby Brown 'two can play ...
