Advantages: A good mix of songs Disadvantages: Doesnt help you get through the housework
A cd thats a couple of years old now but still fun to listen to.
I mean this cd says its meant to help you through the housework but I personally dont think it really does,if anything it distracts you, because you just start singing along to all the great tracks this album has to offer, you get caught up in the music and completely lose track of what you were doing - maybe a good thing in a way :-)
Housework vol1 is a double album that has some cracking songs that you just dont seem to hear on the radio anymore such as The Beach Boys - Help Me Rhonda and Don McLeans - American Pie.
The songs on this album just make you feel good and really help to lift your spirits, but I honestly think its marketed wrong, this is a feel good album for anyone just not people doing the housework.I dont think the title of the album really represents ...
This is a gorgeously packaged 3 disc set called 'Classic fm at the Movies.
It looks wonderful, from the digi-pack cover and slick black iconic silhouettes adorning each side.
A look at the track-listing shows that there are some enjoyable tracks here Star Wars, The Mission, The English Patient, Witness, Out of Africa these are all classic, no pun intended, tracks.
A few titles jumped out though, titles that I felt were worthy additions to a compilation album; titles like Stage Beauty, Arsène Lupin and Rachel Portman's Oliver Twist.
Some thought has clearly been put into this, making it a good collection of very fine film music. Although some track such as gladiator (suite) are poor imitations.
However it is a decent introduction, to the novice, for decent classical music.

Advantages: The 6 number 1 records Disadvantages: The rest of the tracks are rubbish
Well the title itself is a misnomer for starters as the disco era was a fairly short period during the mid 1970's as disco was ousted from the music scene by Punk and the 80's were ruled by 2 Tone Ska then the New Romantics and synth music at least as far as the UK went any way.
Disco may have lived on into the 80's in America but it was replaced by electro, hip hop then rap followed by House music. Wikipedia even openly admits that disco died in 1979 but also states "the genre continued to be popular elsewhere during the 1980s", probably in less fashionable countries that hadn't adopted whatever was popular from England or America by then. Take it from someone who lived through all 3 decades, disco was dead and gone by the 1980's.
So whats on this album then?
1. High Energy - Evelyn Thomas. This was #1 in a few places in 1984 but ...
