...SITAR SOUL is like foreever kind of a music which really opens the hidden truth of life by bringing mental peace to your mind. I think Ravi shankar is capable and even famous for Composing Music which is not composed by rules.No doubt his music is inexpressible Im a DIE HARD fan of Pandit Ravi Shankar ,after silence the next thing which comes to my mind is his SITAR.I feel this is one of his best creations.Raga Mishra Kafi and Raga Mian Ki Malhar are my favourites among all tracks. SITAR played by him in this album really kills the silence.Im pretty sure that SOUL OF SITAR will definately going to touch everybody's soul ,after all its straight from Pandit ji's heart & soul. ...Bala murali krishna, what can be said of him, every word in the music dictionary will fall short when i try to describe him in his own field. He has decades of practise that singing is breathing for him. Perhaps, quitely , there is a hum when he breaths in and out. He is a pious man and with a blend of divinity and expertise in music, his renderings are as Divine as it can get. Clarity in expressing difficult words in Sanskrit, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil makes his songs heart-throbbing. The vibrations really oscillate the listener into a different world. Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, a singer with a difference, his rugged voice may seem to be a wrong combination for the compositions he sings,but once he gets going, the melody gets the better of everythign and everyone... his single line rendering in a patriotic song... .... There is a Gregorian Association and the English branch has no less a luminary than the Archbishop of Canterbury as its president. The musical director is Peter Wilton, an expert in the Gregorian Chant. The Gregorian Chant is still used in churches and monasteries throughout the world as part of a tradition of continuing Christian worship. As in the music on the two CDs in this set, the singing is performed by the Monastic Choir of the Abbey of Saint Pierre de Solesmes, the words are in Latin. Even if like me, you cannot understand the words, all one needs to do is to listen to the singing of the dedicated monks on this CD. It is beautiful, serene and it brings peace and tranquility to the anxious soul in these, our exceptionally troubled times.
