Advantages: Nasty Brutal Brilliant Alt. Blues Disadvantages: Nasty Brutal Brilliant Alt. Blues
...How do you make the White Stripes cry like babies well lock them in a darkened room and play this band at them until they do so,and then point your finger at them and laugh.......
This is nasty horrible blues at its best, consisting of just one drummer pounding out basic but brutal rythms and one guitarist/ vocalist, firing out nasty bad ass noisy blues riffs like they were going out of fashion and screaming strange almost incomprehensable lyrics. This is the sort of blues I want to play not in the soulless mannner Eric Clapton or Gary Moore plays it but in the dripping in dirt and sweaty way, which is the way that the ImmortalLeeCountyKillers play the blues, there is real violence in the way the guitar is being played here......... COME ON

Advantages: A great line up of metal heroes Disadvantages: Not enough Korn
...Recorded at the mighty Korn's 1999 Family Values tour, this live album features one hell of a line up. Incubus open the proceedings with a paint stripping version of New Skin. Aggressive, unrelenting stuff, which brings us neatly to Orgy, who give us their unique metal version of New Order's Blue Monday, which sadly falls on its heavily-distorted arse.
"Are you ready baby... to get the fuckup?" Limp Bizkit are in the house. Blistering renditions of Cambodia, George Michael's Faith and House Of Pain's Jump Around demonstrate how important Limp Bizkit had become. After Fred Durst's crew had demolished the speakers you'd think Ice Cube wouldn't want to set foot on stage, but the man lays out Check Yo'self and Natural Born Killers and Straight Out Compton/F**k The Police.
Finally, Korn take the stage to a rabid crowd desperate...

Advantages: Amy Lee, Amy Lee, Amy Lee Disadvantages: A few of the tracks are repeats of each other
...Immortal, Hello is one of the only quiet, slow tracks on the album - and with good reason. This IS album-filler and even the pretty lyrics - 'Playground schoolbell rings, again/Rainclouds come to play, again/Has no one told you she's not breathing/Hello, I'm your mind/giving you someone to talk to' - won't save it.
The last track - and we've come so far together. In Whisper, you're back on what Evanescence know best; up-tempo, noisy tracks that interchange between power-rock and sleepy, sexy build-ups that sound as if Amy Lee is submurged underneath water, her voice still billowing out. While not one of the best, it is still memorable and powerful enough and I'm delighted that they didn't end the album on a stogy note with Hello.
'Evanescence' means to disappear like vapour. With Amy’s haunting voice, there is no chance of that happening. She...
