It's hard to know where to start with a review of a Michael Jackson album, especially another 'best of', as most of us probably have the majority of these tracks on other albums. That said, they do have a certain appeal and a way of sounding fresh and exciting, even when some are around 30 years old. It's also hard to say what the future holds for Jackson in light of recent events. I am sure his fan base will stay true to their hero, but those of us who are less sure of him may well move on. I'm sure this album was released to remind us just what a musical talent Michael Jackson really is, and it certainly does that!
There are 38 tracks altogether over the 2 cds and range from the Jackson hits such as 'ABC' right up to his more recent solo offerings of 'Heal the world' and 'Black or white'.
I have to say that some of these tracks really please me personally (ballads such as 'Got to be there' and 'She's out of my life' and upbeat numbers such as 'Thriller' and 'Wanna be startin' Somethin') and one of the main reasons for buying it was for the gorgeous song 'Ben' (even if it was written about a rat!). It's the kind of album that you can sing along to and leave on as background music when friends call round because everyone knows and loves these hits.
Okay, so there are a few lesser known ones amongst the top sellers such as 'In the closet' and 'They don't care about us' and possibly a free classics missed off too but for a man who has been singing since he was 10, this is a very good taste of his expertise. I will include a track listing as I feel it's important in making a potential buying decision, and I'd be very surprised if anyone out there knows less than 10 of these tracks.
Cd1 I want you back ABC The love you save Got to be there Rockin'Robin Ben Blame it on the Boogie Shake your body (down to the ground) Don't stop 'til you get enough Off the wall Rock with you She's out of my life Can you feel it The girl is mine Billie Jean Bewat it Wanna be startin' somethin' Human Nature P.Y.T (pretty young thing) I just can't stop loving you Thriller
Cd2 Bad The way you make me feel Man in the mirror Dirty Diana Another part of me Smooth criminal Leave me alone Black or white Remember the Time In the closet Who is this Heal the world Will you be there You are not alone Earth song They don't care about us You rock my world
Love him or hate him, Michael Jackson is a very talented artist and this is a great addition to any cd collection.
I paid £10.99 including p&p for this album from www.cdwow.co.uk so pretty good value for a double album.

How much was this album? You can edit to add in the price. As for the album, I've been putting off buying it because it's just Sony cashing in (again). I'd rather give Mike the cash in his hand.
