Advantages: Songs, mix/range of artists Disadvantages: None
I love this CD. The songs may be over five years old now, but I think that they stand the test of time (in my lifetime anyway). The songs released nowadays under the "dance" genre all sound the same with no originality and are all about the same sort of stuff. I'll start off talking about CD One.
There is a range of different artists on here including Kylie Minogue, Justin Timberlake, Kelis, Blue, Atomic Kitten & Jamelia. I like how not all of the songs have been remixed and edited, and how most of the songs by the artists are the "originials". I don't like MC Jig's version of the Cha Cha Slide. It lacks the bounciness DJ Casper's had, and it doesn't feel right to try and do the Cha Cha Slide to it either. All in all, the first CD is good but not my favourite. I love CD Two!!
I find CD Two is the disc to switch on if you're having ...
Advantages: Fun, great music, basic and easy to understand Disadvantages: not so good to "get fit", too basic at some points
I've literally just finished the end of this DVD and thought Id write the review whilst it was still fresh in my mind!
Pineapple Studios EverybodyDance does what it says on the tin "Learn To Dance, Get fit, & have fun!" - but only just.
The choreographer is really good, and her credibility is backed up by the fact that she has worked with stars like the Sugababes, Rihanna and Mary J Blige. You definitely warm to her, shes not patronising, and you do feel part of the dance class whilst she is teaching you the moves!
There are three main routines that she teaches you, each with a chorus and verse - "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado, "SOS" By Rhianna, "Aint No Other Man" by Christina Aguilera and "Beep" by The Pussycat Dolls. The DVD also includes other extras like meeting the dance troupe, make up tips etc as well as a full routine ...
Advantages: a wide range of r & b styles and some classic tunes Disadvantages: ballads - yuck!
" available on import, which will probably include most of the songs you missed on the original soundtrack. But after a quick scan of the tracklist on amazon, it seems that Fatman is conspicuously absent on that one also. Strange, that.
SHOULD YOU BUY IT?
While I do not like this soundtrack as much as I like the "Bad Boys 2" soundtrack, I feel that the "Save the Last Dance" soundtrack is more accessible to people (the latter is more hip-hop oriented) and so will probably appeal more to people who aren't necessarily as fond of the r & b genre as I am.
Of course the simple answer is, if you've watched the film, and thought "I'm really feeling that music, man" (or words to that effect!) then this is the album you are looking for. You will find most of the most memorable tracks from the film on it, and you can spend some enjoyable time ...
