...Although only now, being 17 years of age, this album is sure to be the album of my life. Mr. Rocksteady is the epitome of a mood setter for a night out, and without a doubt this man has got soul. This album is compiled of hit after hit of rocksteady renditions of songs such as "Puppet on a String" and "I dont want to see you cry". Such sing a long tunes make you want to put this album on repeat from morning until night, and until someone else puts as much into an album as Ken Boothe has with Mr. Rocksteady, then this will continue to play from my stereo. If soul and movement and rocking steady is what you're looking for, then this is sure to be a great album to your collection.... Read review

Techniques All Stars: Eldora An instrumental of remarkable polish. Wicked bassline. Plucky. 3. The Maytals: 54-46 That's My Number Rebel MC nicked the bass for Street Tuff. The original and best. Sublime. 4. Hot Rod All Stars: Virgin Soldiers Instrumental with a flute solo! Bizarre. 5. Joe White: I'm Gonna Get There Great lovers rock moment from a sweet soul voice. Enchanting. 6. Rupie Edwards All Stars: Kinky Funky Reggae King of pop-dub, provides a Marley Cover. Patchy. 7. Joe White: So Much Love Beautifully executed, soulful track that will leave your heart crying. ...This was an excellent Album, made easy listening. I have long been a Billy Holiday fan but to those people who have not heard her soulfull voice, I would recommend this album as an intro into the ninteen thirties blues scene. Backed by the Ken Burns Jazz Band, Billy's voice is so sypathetically handled and allowed to blend with each mellow note. Its a rare combination of orchestra and voice, that is simply so in harmony with each other that the listener is lulled into the whole pre war American Night Club ethos. On listening to tracks three and four, " Me Myself and I " and "Without Your Love" with thier slight swing rhythm, you almost feel you are part of the audience, sitting at one of the tables. A drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other, smoke filling the sultry air of the room, disturbed only by the background murmer... Read review
