...This is the Double CD taken from the recently released film of the same name, it is the SPECIAL EDITION and has a hard backed 14 page booklet with photographs from the film and behind the scenes, it also has additional music. There is a list of the cast, including, GERARD BUTLER as THE PHANTOM, EMMY ROSUM as CHRISTINE, MINNIE DRIVER as CARLOTTA (singing voice of Carlotta by MARGARET PREECE), I believe Minnie Driver hadn't the singing range required to play the part, she does however sing 'Learn To Be Lonely' on the second CD. Tracks include....THINK OF ME, ANGEL OF MUSIC, THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT, WISHING YOU WERE SOMEHOW HERE AGAIN, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and many more! Music and lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber. ...I have a 21 month old son who loves anything and everything to do with Mickey mouse clubhouse,i only came across this programme last December (as i have wrote about in my review on the DVD). Advantages: Brilliant tracks
Disadvantages: Vocal ability of some of the cast

..., at least on the big screne the actors could hide their voices behind their acting and film sound effects, but a soundtrack is raw and a single note out of tune and those theatrically trained can tell a mile off. There were two Soundtracks released; one being the main fourteen and the other being a two hour double disk, which included dialogue,making for a very odd listening experience. but both did well in the Billboard charts, topping the soundtrack billboard and being listen as number two in the Amazon sales charts. It was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe, both for 'Best new original song from a motion picture', that 'best song' being Minnie Drivers attempt at singing on a track called 'Learn to be lonley'. I own the original recordings and it holds a primary place in my car as I love (trying!) to sing along, but I thought... Read review
