I am going to start with the strongest track in this album "The Escapist" I find it amazing how it use's metaphors to describe what I belive is the secreat to creative thinking "the walls were never really there" "no barriers, no boundries" inspiring free thinking in my eyes. Further more mike mentions " i'm not traped in a box " which to me says the artist of this track is open minded to all possibilities. " i am not here at all your dearly fooled" I belive that here he is saying if you relate the song to the walk, your missing the metaphor - I feel used to descirbe a way of thinking.
The Song "love you more" this is very deep. I feel the aim of this song is to express fear of loving, because of the risk of getting hurt. In this song it feels like the artist has thought of all of the possibilites and seen the end result in his mind " the voice inside my head is always right which is why the awkard silence" so... "Which is why I'm never gonna woo-oo you". "Eternal optimism is spurring me on to think That acting on your ins like this Might lead me to learn a secret " yet I feel the artist does not want the heartbreak and decides to leave it.
In this album I feel mike goes through the issue of change in the track "on the flip of a coin", "worked out how to swim" found a way to make his own way through life. "Turn your life on the flip of this coin" I belive this song is saying we can all change if we learn to think independently (swim).
I feel in this album mike gives alot of metaphors of life to think on - there are many more inner meanings in this album, I just felt it best I point out what I feel are the least obvious one's. I feel this album triggers strong emotions and works the mind in a creative way.
