Firstly you shouldn't even need to be reading this review you should have bought this album (or be planning to buy this album) on the Boyz reputation alone. Or perhaps you don't know much about Boyz II Men then you've come to the right place...
The Philly quartet's third album has a more mature sound than the previous albums this change is reflected in the title of the album "Evolution". As group member Nathan Morris puts it "Evolution is the act of positive change, growth, maturity...Boyz II Men".
The album consists of 14 soulful Tracks where the Boyz sing about heartbreak/loneliness in tracks like the Shawn Stockman penned "Doin' Just Fine" and the Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced "4 Seasons of Loneliness". In other tracks they pay homage to their Mamas in "A Song for Mama" and to God in "Dear God". My favorite track is the acapella driven "Can You Stand the Rain?" which shows off their already established singing capabilities.
This simply outstanding album will appeal to anyone who will listen basically but especially existing Boyz II Men fans (Obviously) and any fan of artists like Brian McKnight, Joe, Babyface (writer and producer of 4 tracks on this album) and All-4-One.
