Advantages: Accoustic harmonies and easy to listen to songs.Sincere and heartfelt lyrics. A really nice album. Disadvantages: I didnt like it as much as X&Y or A Sudden Rush of Blood to the Head.
Parachutes By Coldplay was released in 2000. The band are a London based indie band. They have been compared to bands like Radiohead and on listening to this album you can understand why, although they aren't as heavy. The music on this album is filled with sweet harmonies, mixied with distorted guitar riffs and percussion. The songs are accousticy and light and generally have a really easy listening feel to them. Chris Martins voice is really gravelly and warm but at the same time achieves a melodic and tuneful quality. It really is lovely to listen to and something about it completely convinces you of his sincere and heartfelt sentiments.

" comes next and is the track that really brought the band to the publics attention. It is an outstanding song that more or less everyone must know. I still class this as one of their best songs even now.
"Trouble" was the follow up single to "Yellow" and it would have been a travesty if it had flopped. Thankfully it didn't, reaching the Top 10 like its predecessor. Contains memorable lyrics about being tangled up in a spider's web.
The title track is not really a track, it lasts around 45 seconds and is more of a link between "Trouble" and "High Speed". The latter relates to the lyrics and not the pace of the song.
"We Never Change" is a very soulful and slow song. It gives Chris Martin a good opportunity to show off his strong vocal talents. The opening reminds me a little of "Wires" by Athlete, I wonder if they took any inspiration ...

and soothing piano start, then the drums appear and followed on by Chris' voice this song is perfect. It's singing about making trouble and regretting things that have been said and done. This was released as a single and did pretty well if I recall correctly. 7/10
Parachutes: This song is actually only 46 seconds long and isn't really anything spectacular. It's just singing about loving somebody and being in love, it's got nice lyrics though and is a nice interlude in the album. It ends a little upbruptly for my liking but is followed by well by the next song. 6/10
High Speed: This song kicks straight in immediately after Parachutes and is a nice relaxing vibe. After a couple of minutes of listening to this song it gets a little repetitive but Chris sings beautifully and that definitely saves the song from the scrapheap! 6/10
