2. "Green Light" (feat. Andre 3000)
This single was the big return piece for John Legend as he goes for a fell-good tune, reminidng me of when he did early collbs with Kanye West, however on this occassion he gets OutKast's Andre 3000 to aid him as he sings about picking up girls at a bar to some bouncey, club R&B backing, produced by KP and Malay.

3. "It's Over" (feat. Kanye West)
For me, this was the best song off the album, and it really should be one of the next tunes to be released as a single from this album because it is a killer. On it, Legend tells his ex that "It's Over", and her attempts to re-establish the relastionship they once had isn't worth it. Kanye goes for some more vocoder work (as part of the build up to "808s & Heartbreak", and sings as if he really is able to hit the notes, which the auto-tuner is doing for him. This on eid all about the beat an The Neptunes come up with a energetic oneto empower him as he rejects the girl he once loved.
**Five Stars*
4. "Everybody Knows"
The tempo is brought down by this one as we get itno a tune which is lightly produced, in ordr to allow John Legend to show off his vocal talent, without being overshawoded by the beats which accompany his voice. The theme of the trakc before is bascially flipped as he sings about hwo wants to give it another go with a girl.
**Three Stars**
5. "Quickly" (feat. Brandy)
Here Legend gets a collab by with Brandy, who is trying to bring her singing career back up and for me, she did it in the right way by doign a duet with John Legend as they both work off each others voice to motivate them to sing better as they sing with urgecy as they sing about how the world is coming to an end, and they must express their love for each other before the time comes.
**Four Stars**
6. "Cross The Line"
I was really into this one as you have Legned singing about how he has go a female friend, who have ben close for some time, but wishes to take it a stage further with. The uplifting, yet soft beats aid in this burst of emotions from the singer, and are the perfect way to get his point across.
**Four Stars**
7. "No Other Love" (feat. Estelle)
On this one you have Legend sing with the UK's Estelle, who continues to give soem Reggae flavour in her msuic,a nd so they sing on a Dub beat which gets you swaying to add to the diveristy of this album from him. I wasn't overly fond of this one, but it's nice to hear, and I'm sure others will have stronger emotions towards it.
**Three Stars**
8. "This Time"
I can't say that I really enjoyed the time I spend listenig to this song. On it, we have him going into a power ballad, and I've never liked them, so this was going to little to get me likeing them as he goes all-out in showing his vocal range when singing about his love.
**Two Stars**
9. "Satisfaction"
Legend's insecurities come through in this one as hefears that the love in his relationship isn't mutial, and he is unable to do anything about this situation. The smooth, music doesnt really fit the subjecty matter here, however I expect that people will see past this minor issue.
**Three Stars**
10. "Take Me Away"
I have to say that I expected this type of song from the artist, but as I don't really enjoy the Soul side, as much as I do the more open R&B direction of his music, so I am unable to complain about this being here, but I wasn't that into it.
**Two Stars**
11. "Good Morning"
Based upon the openign secnds of this one, I though that Legend was going to get into some Neo Soul as you have some clear Hip Hop beats, but the synth whcih came into it a ittle later showded us that he was calming it down for a gentle one, in whih he sings as if he as just woke up with his girl.
**Three Stars**
12. "I Love, You Love"
I was impressed by how inventive the beats were in this one as it was rather unexpected as you have a smooth one, which regularly comes with short tempo lifts, which you expect to breakdown the tune into a more lively one. The way that Legend sings shows that he only acknowledges the slower side, and it works nicely.
**Three Stars**
13. "If You're Out There"
Legend ends thigns with a ballad, and I have to say that I was rather unimpressed by this appraoch to closing this recording as the ballad never works for me, when sung by a male performer as it is never meant to be written for this audience.
**Two Stars**
"Evolver" is a good album from John Legend, and has him go into all the main genres of music which he tends to explore. Although at times it was rather predictable, Legend was able to do what was expected of him with great execution.
This third studio album from the neo-soul superstar follows 2006's 'Once Again' and 2008's 'Live From Philadelphia'. While maintaining the consistency of his trademark sexy, sophisticated sound, this album takes a more consciously upbeat attitude on some tracks, including the club-bound first single 'Green Light' (featuring Andre 3000) which evokes the 80s dancefloor. The album also features contributions from Kanye West, Estelle, Brandy and Kelly Rowland.
