...You're all wrong. This is a piss-weak album, full of aimless retro toss, luring the student vote with it's lovably bland charm, braindead and revelling in it. Although Squire's Page fixation seems absent here, he instead seems content to wander into increasingly dull corners of prosaic songwriting, hopelessly lost on the path THAT ONLY LEADS TO TRAVIS. A bad state all told. As a pseudo-anthemic tapestry of how Manc ruled the Earth, it fails in every department. God only knows how we got Oasis from this mess. Dig your own corpses kids.... ...Beautiful South, Quench Unfortunately Beautiful South have not produced another great album with this one, in fact far, far from it. Thirteen tracks (definitely unlucky), and only one of them (Perfect Ten) is worth listening to, or paying good money for. If you really must buy this pathetic album then do, but don't come crying to me when your CD player spits it out at you. Advantages: Very chilled and Relaxing
Disadvantages: Not enough UK Airplay

...I first heard The Calling on the radio with wherever you will go, which is still one of my favorite tracks, but since then they have missed out on UK airplay which is unfortunate as they are a great band, especially live. The album is a bit more mellow then there last except for a couple of songs, and the progression is evident. This time round they seem to be a bit softer, not nessesarily a bad thing although it has led to a couple of the songs sounding similar. Alex's deep voice really lures you into the song and the melody just seems to encapsulate you. If you get the cance, definately see them live- i went to the first and the last venues of there UK tour and it was fabulous, the songs come alive.... Read review
