Expansion Team - Dilated Peoples

Out of all Dilated Peoples albums, this one is by far the best.

For those who don't know Dilated Peoples, then listen up.

This is true Hip-Hop, dope beats, and slick lyrics make this one a worthy purchase.

I got mine for like £6, it's pretty old now released in 2001, and since there is 2 other albums out,
the price has come down a lot.

I bought it after hearing it from my friend, who really likes the group alot too!!!!!

You won't find any talk of drugs (ok just weed!), prostitution, guns or killing in this but there is swearing. There is also other
artists, it says on the sticker one the front:

"DJ Premier, The Alchemist, Da Beatminerz, Joey Chavez, JuJu and more..."

I know of DJ Premier, he is from Gang Starr. An excellent DJ and very well known. Also i heard Da Beatminerz, they are
real good too, also it features Tha Alkoholik's (Tha Lik's) who are a really cool Hip-Hop/Rap group.

Tracks:

01 - Live On stage:
Very cool track, starts off sounding live on a stage, but compared with other live track's i've heard im not so sure of that.
But anyway, it's got a really cool beat to it, bit of scratching here and there. Great intro track to the album. 10/10

02 - Worst Comes To Worst:
A track of their's that was released as a Single. I recognise the tune from one of Ludacris's tracks, but it's a really good one.
Not my favourite track, but a favourite of one of my friends. I think everyone will like this track, it is more about the lyrics for this one. 9/10

03 - Clockwork:
More scratching, mixing and a damn good beat. Listening this far, you can see how good this group is. 9/10

04 - Trade Money:
This is one of the best i think, has a really cool tune and the lyrics are amazing. Telling people about money and not to love it.
And about how much hassle you get the more you get. 10/10

05 - Heavy Rotation:
This is the one with "Tha Alkoholiks", one of the best tracks for this album. Everything about this track is great.
gets more than 10/10 if possible!

06 - Self Defense:
About fighting back, defending yourself. Not a bad track, good lyrics and a nice beat. 9/10

07 - Phil Da Agony Interlude:
Just a small interlude, cool lil track i think it's a freestyle. i'm not sure. but good anyway. 8/10, for not being longer :-)

08 - Proper Proraganda:
This has a really cool beat to it, talking about propergangder and all stuff, but its a good one :-) 9/10

09 - Dilated Junkies:
More about the turntable in this one, "a dangerous man, that can speak with his hands" referring to the DJ Babu, of the group.
9/10

10 - Panic:
About a bad situation, you don't know what to do but panic! bit darker than all the other's. 9/10

11 - Pay Attention:
More relaxing tune, it is a piano. Rapping about you paying attention to what they say, telling you to pay attention to what you're doing, such as your career too. 9/10

12 - Night Life:
One of my favourite's, starts off rather relaxing, then talking about life at night "sleep all day to wake up for night life". Really cool track this is. 10/10

13 - War:
A bit crap, but it's trying to get a message across about war. 8/10 i guess for this.

14 - Hard Hitters:
Lyrically, this one is really good. Rather mellow beat to it, but this one is more about the lyrics. 9/10

15 - Defai Interlude:
Small track, but got some really wicked scratching, and a cool tune to it. The lyrics are really something too,
wish it could last longer, big 10/10!!

16 - Expansion Team Theme:
Final track, longest one aswell! Really cool, music is not bad but not as good as some others. i guess this one is more lyrical.
9/10

Overall, this is one amazing Hip-Hop album, I'd reccomend to anyone. Even if you are not a Hip-Hop fan, maybe this one will change your mind :-)

It has loads of cool DJ scratching, just as any other music of this style, but the lyrics are something more than a lot i have heard.

These ones will stick in your head for a while, unlike many others you hear and forget!

If you are a true hip hop fan and you don't own this one, then you should be ashamed of yourself. haha!
