...The fantastically named "Deja Entendu" is the second album from Brand New, a band which not everyone will be familiar with, but a band you should get to know. Building on the good work of the debut album, "Your Favourite Weapon" this album sports similarly brilliant lyrics. It starts with a short intro named "Tautou" which sets the scene for the rest of the album. Something a bit different and very powerful. Following this is the song which introduced me to Brand New "Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades", a fantastically fast paced, well written and beautifully song about a boy being forced into a sexual relationship which he isn't ready for. ...This is the classic album of my teenage years . It must have been released about 1984-85. I cant remember the year, but i can recall every song and what it meant to a teenage boy. There were the singles, bigmouth strikes again, and the boy with the thorn in his eyes but the greatest song here is the melancholic song that means something (probably different in each case) to everyone who has ever heard it. From Take me back to dear old blighty, to the fade in Some girls are bigger than others, there isnt a disappointing song on the album.... Read review
