happy i am - after first hearing amy on mtv it hought another american singer wrong the just turned 18 yr old is from bournmouth, woohoo nice to have some british talent.
Amys album has a song for every moment wether you want to bounce around like a luny or sit deep in thought. lets start at the begining. Just a little girl is all about amy's opinion of what her elders seem to think of girls her age or thereabouts basically they just tell her shes a little girl and as she says it means a lot more to her she has opinions she wants them heard and the song indicates this the verse are sung softly and the lyrics get you listening but as a sort of in one ear out the other kinda feel but the chorus comoe and she pumps up the volume and makes you listen the first line of the song - sometimes i feel your not listening - clearly by the end of the song that just isnt good enough so coome on elders listen to what the little girl has to say a great song with great meaning.
Others on the album such as misfit are pure talent and genius with its catchy bouncy music and once more strong opinions in the words. basically in this song shes saying its ok to be differant why follow the crowd be who you want to be, the firslt line of this song i will always remember "so you think youve got it all worked out youve got your hot pants on youve got your arse right out" in the end amy being differant gets her noticed and she wins the day. a must have single if not the album.
Other great which were never released are The flawless "Ladder in my tights" The music to this is so sweet and innocent and awww but then she sings she sings with the sweetness there but the lyrics are harsh and have a hint of sarcasm "just one more word and im gonna explode im gonna self combust im gonna blow up the world" also "if i just had a little more time id get some duct tape and silverware" "if i just had a little more time id get some c4 and dynamite" "theres a little bit of pyscho in me" "your oon thin black ice" this could of been an all time great butas it was sheryl crowe asked her to cover all i wanna do and that was released as a finale to False smiles.
amy shows incredible talent with her singer/songwriter abilities and with beautiful ballads like happy now she shows shes capable of everything. I have never seen such a fresh young talent. if your a music fan this albums for you. Grab and grab it now. there are two version one with all i wanna do and one without.

Review of False Smiles - Amy Studt
Advantages: Exceptional, unique and memorable. Amy writes all her own songs and plays her own instruments. Disadvantages: The lyrics are a bit self-pitying and pessimistic at times (but this didn't bother me!)
