Advantages: i liked the original, the trailer makes it look good Disadvantages: trailers always do...
Now, I have always been a sucker for the whole dance movie genre. "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", the "Step Up" movies, "Save the Last Dance" . . . loved them all. I guess I thought "Fame" was going to be a slightly more well-rounded (ie embracing arts OTHER than dance) version of one of those.
Boy, was I wrong.
I can't remember the original "Fame" all that well from my childhood, althought I do know I was a big fan of it at the time. And perhaps WERE I a tween again, I may have felt similarly. But I just couldn't. Perhaps I am just getting too old to appreciate it, but I came out of the cinema at the end of it feeling a distinct sense of "Was that it???"
But I don't like to give an opinion and not justify it, so where's what I found wrong with it...
First of all, there didn't really seem to be a POINT to the whole film. Which is I ...

Advantages: Fun, good voice, good variety Disadvantages: Some of the slow songs are a bit dull
What do you think of when you think of Lady Gaga? For me it's a mixture of flirtation and an inability to wear clothes - and, oddly, this attitude is definitley something that comes across in the album!

And, quite simply, if she is someone that you want to hit everytime you see her or hear her talk, this is an album that you will absolutely hate. If you enjoy her quirky, in your face behaviour - then give this one a listen.
I first got hooked on Gaga after hearing Just Dance, the disco track that just wouldn't go away. Despite the fact it quickly became severely overplayed, there was no doubting the fact that it was a good song. It was extremely catchy, you could dance to it, and it ...
Advantages: All 16 episodes are digitally remastered. Disadvantages: No extras and some episodes have been musically edited.
Professor Shorofsky all took me back to the 80s and it felt as if they'd never been away. I'd just like to point out that I wrote all the actors and characters' names from memory without having to look at the credits on the cover :) That's how big a fan I was in the 80s so how pleased was I when this was released?!
The original music soundtrack is as catchy as it ever was with songs including the theme tune "Fame" by Irene Cara; the moving, "I Still Believe (In Me)"; "I Can Do Anything Better Than You Can", "Alone In The Crowd", "Come What May", "I Was Only Trying To Help", "It's Gonna be A Long Night" and "A Special Place".
