EPILOUGE ~~~~~~~~ I Honestly don't know when my love for music started, be it Country,Pop,Rock,or easy listening but certainly not Heavy Metal!.To quote a line from a famous song "music was my first love, and it will be my last.Music of the future and music of the past!" I am always at my happiest when i have my music loud and proud and catawalling to the songs.For some strange reason it always makes me feel good,and i wonder if any of you're ciao'ers do the same? or am i the only one?
HOW I FOUND THIS ALBUM! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I first heard of Billie Jo Spears when i was working for a couple as their nanny (some many years ago), and i instantly fell in love with her voice,music and lyrics as most of her songs are from the pain and torment she suffered in her own life.During a period of time i lost my copy(all be it ,it was on vynil)So i eventualy contacted my local music store who to my joy! found me my lost Album onCD for a meagre £4:99.I immediately bought it,and brought it home and sang my little heart out! "Sorry neighbours" or should i say "Sorry Island"?
NOW FOR BILLIE JO! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not a lot is known about this artist as she is a very private person but what i know is,Billie
Jo Spears was born in Beaumont,Texas in 1937,and made her debut as a mere child of 13yrs at an all star country concert in Houston, Texas under the name of Billie Jo Moore.Not long after she recorded a single called "Too old for toys,Too young for boys" for Abbot records. She used to sing after high school in night clubs looking for that elusive recording contract. She then moved to Nashville in 1964 and signed a recording deal with United Artists,and subsequently was signed over to Capital Records and recorded "Harper Valley PTA" (A cover version of an unknown artist called Jeanie C Riley) Success continued to elude her untill 1969 when "Mr Walker it's all over" Went into the country charts and climed to number five,Billie then charted several more times through 1972,but had to stop when Nodules and Polyps robbed her of her voice and forced her to have surgery. Thank goodness she went one to make a full recovery and returned to United Artist in 1975 Where she had a hit with "Blanket on the ground" then "Misty Blue" and "What iv'e got in mind" reached the top five.Several more singles reached the decades end but classics like "57 Chevrolet" and "Lonely hearts club" Were much bigger hits here in Britian. Spears then began to devote her time to touring overseas and in 1981 the single "Your Good Girls gonna Go Bad" made the top twenty.She then recored sporadically for independent labels usually based here in the uk during the '80s and early '90s.She had a triple by-pass in 1993 which she recovered from and toured again in the UK to an ever loyal fan base.Unfortunatly the US's affection for her vocal talents were not as good as here.This is where she had most of her success!

13.Apologising Roses > House of Bryant Publishing 2:44 Why do i always get these Roses when you have been messing around?.
14.Why Don't We Go Dancing > Headline Music 3:55 A song about being a mum and a wife but what happened to me being me again.
15.We've Still Got Love > Sony/ATV Music UK 3:19 We don't have much but a least we have love for each other still.
16.Right or Wrong > Chappell -Morris LTD 2:09 No matter what i still love you.
17.Wishing won't Make it So > W.Elkin Music LTD 3:09 Go out and get what you want ! it wont come to you.
18.Crazy > Acuff-Rose Music LTD 3:15 A Godd cover version of Patsy Clines smash hit.
PROLOUGE ~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a good album with plenty of songs for a range of emotions,and sung by Billie in her own unique sultry way,and even if you have'nt heard of her or her songs i would recommend that you go get a copy and judge for yourselves. This is not only an Album for the Female of the species,but i'm certain most men will enjoy it too (my hubby does). Unfortunatly Spears does not tour much anymore in the UK so,to get to a concert you would have to go to the USA.So i can't included tour dates on this review.
