Advantages: Somewhat original story, original concept, great performances, touching, makes you think Disadvantages: A bit over sentimental for some (you'll need to be armed with tissues!)

I first heard of the movie Pay It Forward through an interview with my favourite music group, the Backstreet Boys. My favourite member Brian has mentioned a few times in interviews that this was at least one of his favourite movies and otherwise, I hadn't heard of it. It came out in 2000 but I don't remember hearing anything about it on TV at the time (maybe I was busy then, I don't know) and so I guess it sort of slipped under my radar.
Anyway, I was recently looking for DVDs of movies to purchase for watching over the festive holiday season and when I came across this title, I thought, from the little I'd heard of it, it sounded like it would make for quite a good movie to watch over Christmas and New Year. Advantages: Novel idea, good action scenes. Disadvantages: Far fetched to say the least. Full of coincidences galore.

As luck would have it, there is an FBI agent (Mark Benford), who is on the case, who thinks that his FlashForward will hold the key to why this has happened and if it is likely to happen again. He begins to follow leads and try to piece varying Flashforwards together.
Even luckier, is a piece of footage that shows a person was awake at the time of the blackout in a soccer stadium, why were they awake and who are they?
I don't want to say too much, so that I don't spoil it for anyone, but needless to say, some people aren't too happy with what they see in the future and some are just confused.
Opinion
The first episode got of to a fast pace and you were quickly introduced to the main characters and their back story. There were some great stunts and all action scenes which wouldn't have been out ...
