I have resorted to five stars for Lough Erne Golf Resort

Advantages: Excellent food, accommodation and service
Disadvantages: None

The Lough Erne Golf Resort and Spa is listed on Ciao as a 4 star hotel, but it is now actually a 5 star facility. I have just reached a milestone age, I celebrated my 40th birthday and I asked my husband to arrange a night away for the two of us, a major logistical feat for us. I am a married mother of three children, aged 8, 5 and 15 months and I work full-time so arranging any free time let alone a night away is something of a major event. Why did we choose the Lough Erne Golf Resort? Well to be honest the decision was not based on any strong desire to play golf, well at least not in February. Basically we were looking for somewhere that would offer us a night of luxury, with good food and comfort and somewhere we would not have to travel too far to get to. I would have loved to have gone somewhere exotic and hot, but ...

Review of Lough Erne Golf Resort, Enniskillen

Farewell to the flesh!

Advantages: More back story to the original
Disadvantages: A tad predictable

Daniel Robitaille is back, and he wants to return his family to his side. When teacher Annie Tarrant says his name in class, the compulsary five times into a mirror, the Candyman comes to take her back to hell with him. In various parts of the film we get some more of the back story behind the Candyman, we see him being murdered in the field by the mob of locals in revenge for him "defiling" the slave owner's (Annie's relative) daughter. It turns out that they had a daughter, who was Annie Tarrant's great grandmother, leading to the whole situation where Annie must go back to the slave quarters in the grounds of the house where she grew up, to try and destroy the Candyman. Can Annie manage to survive the Candyman? And can she manage to stop him, and bring his murderous rampage to an end? You'll need to watch it to find out ...

Review of Candyman 2 - Farewell To The Flesh (DVD)

Farewell To The Flesh

Advantages: Candyman's back
Disadvantages: Not a patch on the original

Candyman 2 is very similar to the first film, which isn't really a bad thing, but it doesn't really go anywhere. The CandyMan has moved on to New Orleans, which we later discover is his home town, and his target is a direct descendant of his, and his lovers. For which he had his had cut off (he was previously an artist) and smeared with honey, so bees would attack him, and sting him to death. It just so happens that his target also happens to be pregnant (not unlike A Nightmare On Elm Street 5). Anyway in order to defeat the Candyman she needs to find a mirror that belonged to his lover this will cause him to lose his power to come through other peoples mirrors, so the legend will die. Or so is the idea. It isn't really a bad film, it suffers from the original being so good. Watch it if you liked the first, but don't expect too much from ...
