Advantages: Musical Memories for his fans to treasure Disadvantages: Maybe not everyone likes Cat's music
...This album is a must for any self-respecting fan of the artist now known as Yusuf Islam. Many of Cat’s fans were shocked when he appeared to turn his back on the music scene to embrace Islam, but we have here a legacy of his best songs in his unique, lilting voice. The album includes some of his early hits;”I Love My Dog”,”Matthew and Son”, and his version of the song which was later a hit for Rod Stewart,”The First Cut Is The Deepest.” There are also songs which contain some thought-provoking lyrics, such as “Father and Son” and “Where Do The Children Play?”and Cat’s well-known version of the beautiful hymn “Morning Has Broken.”Also my own particular favourites,”Moonshadow.” And “Oh Very Young.”
All in all, this is an inspirational album which will never date....

Advantages: Almost perfect album, improved seperation of sounds in remastered form. Disadvantages: One or two slightly weaker tracks.
...otherworldly when you're used to producers filling every gap in a song with noise.
The original CD of this album was a little muddy, suffering both from it's vintage and the sounds used. This new remastered edition does improve things markedly and the improved seperation and clarity of the instruments and different vocal layers makes this a well worth purchase for existing owners. The extras are welcome too especially as most came from the vinyl era and were previously hard to get hold of in a decent quality format....

...of this recording that this is not a definitive list - the DVD audio includes more tracks for example. (I only suggest buying the remaster editions in whatever format, though)).

Somewhat of a who's who of the blues world!
So can I summarise this? A great recording just for the performance alone. Also a great recording for the technical quality. A fantastic way to hear what your Hi-Fi is really capable of (but that could get costly...I take no responsibility for sudden spending spree's!!).
It would also make...
