This review is purely based on my opinion of the album that I have been listening to for the past few months.
When I first listened to the album, it really got on my nerves and I put it down for a few weeks before going back to it. Initially I felt that it had such a cheesy American feel to it that I just couldn't see past that. It grated against me but I realised how shallow I was being and thought it was worth looking beyond that and really listening into it so I put it on my Ipod.
All of the songs on the album tell a real story and you can tell Taylor has written them from personal experiences. There are a particular few that take you through an experience from beginning to end which gives the listener hope. Taylor covers things like falling out with friends, falling in love at a young age and being hurt in relationships.
The album has an easy listening feel to it because the lyrics are very easy to understand and I personally can familiarize with a lot of what she is saying. I wouldn't say that Taylor is a deep thinker like someone like Amy Macdonald who has a very mature way of writing. Like I say they are easy to listen to with a country feel to them and you don't need to have a Master's graduate to disect each line because it's plain.
I don't think Taylor's voice is anything special as I normally prefer a darker tone to female's voices but it's definitely not bad. She has a very strong Texan accent in all of her songs which I think adds a lot of character to her music and she has great control over her voice. I find that she is very easy to listen to because her voice isn't too intrusive.
As with most albums, some of the songs are stronger than others and some stand out more than others. I particularly like 'Breath' which tells the story of how she split up with a boyfriend and how she can't cope without him. She covers how they were so in love that she doesn't know how to be her own person on her own. The harmonies in this song make it a cut above the rest and makes shivers run down my spine when she hits the chorus. The song has a real emotion to it and makes me feel like I want to cry every time. The song includes some beautiful violin and finger picking on the guitar which gives it a depth.
Another of my favourites is 'Fifteen' which is about is all about starting college and how you are nervous. It goes on to tell the listener about how the boys will try to 'woo' you and tell you they love you. It's a bit of warning and Taylor tells you that you are only young and just take a breath before you start to believe it. Eventually she tells of a friend who eventually gave away her virginity to a boy because she got sucked into believing that one boy would be with her forever. It reminded me how I was like when I was in my teens, believing every word that came out of a guy's mouth. It didn't take me long to realize and not believe them but I loved the way that it gives a warning to young girls today. It's more fast paced than breath and takes the listener through all sorts of emotions as she tells her story.
I find the whole album a real feel good album that really picks me up when I am down and makes me want to sing the songs a loud as I walk down the road. I can appreciate that it's not for everyone and can't imagine that my big, 6'2 hubby wanting to listen in!
Advantages: Amazing voice, pure talent Disadvantages: always mostly singing about boys
==Taylor Swift: Fearless==
Now i tend to venture outside the old rock zone which i have comfortably settled in but i dont go out those zones often, i listen to the likes of Dixie Chicks and Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus and i have recently come across this woman...Taylor Swift. Did not think i would like her at all but my mom bought the cd and while she was playing i couldnt help but think...oh my god she has talent! I noticed though all her songs ... ...really appeal to me if its everysingle song, yeah on this track its nearly everysingle song but they all seem unique to me...different.
Taylor Swift released her first devut single which was called Tim Mcgraw in 2006 and then a few months later in october sometime she released her self titled album. She was one of the biggest selling artists in 2008
_Fearless was the first album in 2009 to sell over one million copies and it still continues to ...

Advantages: Beautiful voice, great songwriting and guitar playing. Sings with a lot of emotion. Disadvantages: None! But she isn't that big in the UK yet!
...first album was amazing, so Fearless had a lot to live up to!! I couldn't wait 'till the UK release date (9th March '09), so I got it imported a few days after it was released in the US (November '08), and I have listened to at least one of her songs everyday since! Fearless is a fresh, pop-country album which most people would instantly think would only be popular with teenage girls, but I think her voice and songs would suit most people even if ... ...Tracks... 1. Fearless A fabulous opener for an album. Very catchy, but also a very subtle, calm song. Written about when she is with a boy, she feels fearless. 8/10 2. Fifteen Another slow calm song, but extremely captivating. I think Fifteen is the song from Fearless which she has sung with the most emotion. Taylor sings about being fifteen and has revealed numerous times that this song is about her freshman year of high school. She explains that ...

Advantages: brilliant lyrics and a fantastic voice Disadvantages: some tracks sound a tad the same
...the radio. 1) fearless - this is my least fave on the cd as it does sound a bit like every other teenage singer song writer! good tune though which gets stuck in your head!
2) fifteen - i loved this track. all about being in school and how it all doesnt matter now your out. whether you were popular, sad or a geek you grow up to be a completly different person. "in life youll do greater things, than date the boy on the football team"
3) love story ... ...4) hey stephen - funny track about a "divine"boy who everybody, including the singer fancies like mad, but doesnt actually know why!
5) - white horse - a sad song about somene being madly in love, but the love being unrequited.
6) you belong with me - again about school. she wants to date the boy whos dating the head cheerleader and cant understand why he prefers the cheerleader and not herself.
7) breathe - about the singer dumping her boyfriend ...

Advantages: Great all round cd. Disadvantages: None.
I love this cd, I love the songs and I love Taylor Swift's voice. My favourite track is Love Story. So much so I drive my husband up the wall with it on constant repeat about 5 times in the car before listening to the rest of the album. The cd has a lot of tracks on it, far more than normal cd's. Her voice is pleasant to listen to, so it's good to listen to as a pick me up, in the car or as back ground music when you have friends over. For such a ...
