Advantages: How Squarepusher made a name for himself
Disadvantages: Some tracks inaccessible to the casual listener

...to alternative electronica's indulgent experimentation with tone and rhythm, tracks like 'UFOs over Leytonstone' providing little more than a frustratingly ambient soundscape, but it's not all seriousness as proved by 'Smedley's Medley', an entertainingly frantic, creeping jazz 'n' bass number that you can't help but smile to. It's playful originality such as this that elevates 'Feed Me Weird Things' to classic status, bringing the name of Squarepusher into the mainstream (sort of) and providing a fore-shadow of future delights that had to struggle to live up to exalted expectations.
