To be honest, I bought this CD unintentionally. One night in 2006, at a local music store in Seoul, South Korea, I was looking for a legendary Jacques Brel's song called Ne Me Quitte Pas (Do Not Leave Me) when I saw this CD.
I knew some songs of Nina before, such as Feeling Good, My Baby Just Cares for Me, and Mississipi Goddam, but I didn't know at the time that Nina sings Ne Me Quitta Pas too.

Without any doubt, I bought this CD along with other Nina's: The Very Best of Nina Simone the Colpix Years (2 CDs/ EMI).
It happens a lot that I need to buy someone's album it's only because I love to hear one certain song of his/her. It's happened to me regarding to Nina Simone. I've decided bought her album because of the remarkable poetry song, Ne Me Quitte Pas which wrote (and first performed) by Jacques Brel.
However, since then I've known Nina Simone better, and then I became familiar with her other songs.

Ne Me Quitte Pas was wrote and first performed by Jacques Brel, a French poet-singer. The song itself has a kind of powerful poetry structure; it has well-written rhyme and the metaphors were very strong. I never shame and will never embarrass to confess that I often cry every time I listen the song (no matter by Jacques or Nina).
