What can I say? Words escape me as to the beauty of this album. Having fallen for "Come away with me" almost two years ago I have eagerly awaited Norah's second offering - Feels like home.
Upon first listen you'll find yourself slipping into a daze - lost in the melodic tones of a voice which shivers through the air.
After a few listens you'll find yourself unknowingly humming or singing to yourself the beautiful words of "Those sweet words" and "Toes". Other songs included within the CD include her current, hazy single "Sunrise". An up-beat tune which you'll find yourself dancing away to without a care in the world.
Also on this CD a guest appearance by Dolly Parton - an unusual and excellent collaboration which shows Norah to be the talented ingenious individual whose music we have come to adore. "Creepin' In" has all the stereotypical tones of a country and western dance with the contrasting country tones of Parton and the city-on-a-summers-afternoon tones' of Jones.
Whilst I could rave about this magnificent album all day I will say that songs such as "Carnival Town" and "Above Ground" did take a while to grow on me. Their unusual undertones take a moment or two to adjust too but soon become recognisable as what we have come to expect from Ms Jones.
Superb.
