NORAH JONES – FEELS LIKE HOME
Too much drink, party political broadcasts and Norah Jones.
The above three things all have one thing in common; they have an annoying habit of making you very sleepy.
Now don’t get me wrong this is by no means a negative swipe at Norah Jones, I enjoyed this CD immensely. The problem is that you get so relaxed listening to it.
Norah Jones is the equivalent of a comfy pair of slippers or that cosy home knit jumper you wear on a Sunday or the warm glow after sex.
Norah’s multi Grammy winning first CD was a major break through and triumph for her and this is the long awaited follow up that has so much to live up to.
All I can say is it’s what you expect from Norah Jones. From the opening track Sunrise, Norah sets the lullaby soft snare tone.
The whole feel of the CD is very reminiscent of the track The Nearness of You. It doesn’t surprise, it doesn’t blow your mind or make you strip naked and dance on tables. But it is soothing easy listening to relax to. And the reason it sounds so good, as her first CD, is her sultry, country soul voice that could sing baa baa black sheep and make it sound symphonic.
It’s a Norah Jones CD. If you liked the first you will like this, because it’s Norah Jones and it’s what she does well.

Hi, I totally agree with you about it relaxing you, but I see this as a great thing as it has possibly saved me losing my driving licience!! :-) lol Albums by the likes of Norah Jones & Katie Melua seem to make me feel like cruising along at a relaxing pace rather than flooring it everywhere like dance music does! Whether thats just me or what i dont know, but hey, whatever works! :-) Matt
