this should be called: Female Of The Species - Various Female Artists. Way back in 98 when Phil Earle, head honcho of law and auder looked back at his catalog of releases he realised that none of them featured any women so he set off to put that right and hunted the rare and hard to find artists on this compilation. The result : a double cd of pure electronca made by women .encompassing an incredible scope of styles rarely found on a compilation like this. Released in 1999, this was a bit of a visionnary move by Phil Earle as since then, some of the artists featured here such as Bit Tonic, Kaffe Matthews, Laura B, and Apache 61 have stepped onto the world stage with their widly respected uncompromising and unique talent. Phil would say: remember where you heard them first !
