FenixTx have had some success in recent years after the break through of Blink 182, although not gaining as much publicity as Blink 182. They have been quite a hit and since their first album was released 4 years ago, then re-released 3 years ago (on another record label) they have been touring quite a lot. This new album has been long awaited and if you thought you had FenixTx down as punk/pop-punk then this will surprise you. This new album is a lot heavier than their album in places, while still reproducing some of the sounds of the first.

** The Band/Album Credits **
Adam Lewis – Bass, vocals.
Damon De La Paz – Drums, guitars, vocals.
Williams Salazar – Vocals, guitars.
James Love – Guitars.

Roddy Bottum & Dennis Hill – Additional instruments.

Jerry Finn – Producer.
Andy Walace – Mixer.

I don’t know if any of these names mean anything to you the reader, some of them do to me, but not many! I just seemed a good idea to give a little background as to who made this record. Hope it was useful!?!

** Lechuza **
When I first came across FenixTx I thought I would go and purchase their first album, so I went to the local HMV and Virgin both had the album for about £20 as it was on import! This time the album has actually been released in the UK, so it was a nice respectable £12.99, less this student discount (so not bad value).

Apparently this is a “Special Edition” album, I can’t actually see what is special about it as all of the albums were like this! I did a little research over the Internet and found out why it was special. This album was a “special Edition” for the UK and contains two additional tracks, one a video. This video is of the hit song “All My Fault” from their first album. To play this video all you have to do is to place the CD into your Windows or Macintosh PC and the CD will install the software it needs to play the video, it will then play!

This is a nice fast paced punk song; it starts the album off in a good mood. It is a song about this guy who is fed up not having a girl friend. He is fed up with watching porn and wishes he could be with the people in the video.

* Katie W. *
This is a cool song; it has all the qualities of a good metal song, which just makes you, want to bounce around! The song is about his guy and his new girlfriend (again!). This guy is still thinking about his old girlfriend and he can’t get her out of his mind!

* Threesome *
This is the only song they have released from this album so far and if you are lucky you can see the video on Kerrang! TV or if you watch the film American Pie 2, which by the way is worth seeing if you enjoyed the first, this song is part of the soundtrack. No need to explain the gist of this song! Listen to this song and you will humming it for ages; it is combines a heavier style of punk with a faster type?!?

* Pasture Of Muppets *
This is my favourite song on the album I just can’t get enough of it! The first 30 seconds of it could just listen to over and over again, I don’t know what it is, I just like it… a lot! This song despite it’s sound has quite a dark theme to it, it appears to me to be about this person who is a bit psychopathic! The “Pasture Of Muppets” another way of talking about the victims he is planning to hurt?

* Beating A Dead Horse *
This is one of the heavier songs on the album and I like it, FenixTx could play as a very good metal band if they wanted too. This song is about someone getting frustrated that they can’t get anything to go their way. This is kind of represented by the title of the song and the angry metal style, which it is played in.

* Felix Navidad *
This is a cool little song, if you ever thought at Christmas you didn’t have a song to play well now you do! This song has a very Mexican style to it which then turns into metal, this works quite well and ends up with the band “wishing you a merry christmas”. When this song finishes it has a nice hidden track at the end, to hear this you have to wait about 8 minutes, or skip to it if you know where it is! If you wait to listen to it you first notice that something else is playing when you hear a very annoying scratching sound! When the song finally plays it is worth the wait as it is quite good!

** My Thoughts **
Personally I like this album a lot and think that FenixTx should have more success than they have had. But then I can’t really change the musical tastes of the record buying public, can I? I you liked their first album you will like this one, if you haven’t heard any of their songs if you like Blink 182, Sum 41, Green Day, Offspring etc… then you will like this too!
