Panic! At The Disco, wow, where to start. Firstly, they are an absolutely fantastic band, they have taken the 'emo' sensation by storm! They come with some of the catchiest riffs and vocals. This album is short and snappy and really gets to the point.
1 - Introduction - -This introduction to the album realy gets you into the mood for listening to the music, it is slightly confusing, as if you have never heard P!ATD then you hear the piano piece and think...hmmm what are they going to be like.
2 - The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage - This song fades straight in from the intro track. It kicks in with the lyrics 'Sit tight I'm gunna need you to keep time' and blasts you away with the slenderness and clearness of Brendan Urie's voice, and the gentle strumming of the guitar in the background. The song then slams into the chorus 'And i believe....this may call for a proper introduction.....' This song is probably the best ever first song on any album there is.
3 - London Beckoned Songs About Money Written by Machines - The third track on the album really tests Urie's vocal skills. And he pulls it off fantastically! the opening line 'Stop stalling make a name for yourself' really breaks the song open and gets us into it. The song carries itself fabulously to the chorus which then slows it all down with the 'Panic meet the press' line which then subsequently throws itself forward into a more lively and entertaining chorus which flows tremendously throughout. A fantastic song!
4 - Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks - Track 5 is groundbreakingly good song! It has more of
a darker feel to it however, and has the kind of lyrics we might expect in some kind of horror film. This eerie song shows a different side to the band. A side that is darker, and thats not so happy and lively all the time. However, this i a good thing for Panic! because it shows they have a more serious side, and really displays their musical talents all round.
5 - Camisado - Camisado is a song that is all about a boy who has got into a fight and is now in hospital. The lyircs to this song tell a story, but at the same time make a song. It is very cleverly and well devised in the way that it is all put together to do all of this. The song has some controversial lyrics in it, 'Just sit back and relapse again' showing that the 'kid' may get back into his bad ways and get back into more fights, or even go back into his coma, or illness that his fight has got him into. Once again though, a brilliant outburst of lyrics and musical talent for your listening pleasure!
6 - Time To Dance - Another slightly darker song tha displays courage and audaciousness to sing about something so sincere; someone being massacred at a dance. The vocals are put across tremendously well, and this song has an extremely catchy line in it 'When I say shotgun you say wedding - Shotgun - Wedding, Shotgun - Wedding' Additionally another fantastic Panic! song
7 - Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off - Panic!'s 3rd single in the UK which didn't hit off as well it's two predecessors. Possibly because its not lively enough, or as entertaingin as the other two were. But possibly because also the video to it was slightly...creepy. This song has a more sincere underlying tone to it. Brandon Urie really stretches his capabilities with song hitting some quite high notes in the chorus' 'Let's get these teen hearts beating Faster - FASTER' Not such a good song addmitedly, but still a wonderfully put together track.
8 - Intermission - Not what you'd expect halfway through this album, however its mix of techno sounding dance beats and piano concertos is absolutely stunning. Not like the interlude, or 'sepaking' track on some albums that you jsut skip, this track is actually listenable to. It is wierd in how it catches you in, and then anchors you there to listen to it. On first hearings, it is quite shocking that a band could take such a big risk and put this in, but Panic! had the tenacity to put it in for us to listen to, but once you've listened to the album a few times and that track brandishes your ear drums, it becomes set, and just like one of their other songs...absolutely brilliant! 2 and a half minutes well spent!
9 - But Its Better If You Do - This track is the bands second UK single, and brings back the lighter mood of the album. The track is nice and lively, and makes you feel realy glad to have actually paid a tenner for a CD. The lyrics are quite positively brilliant and the music is blended in really well. The song is very 'cabaret' based, and is the sort of thing you can actually imagine being played in a modern pub! The song has fantastic vocals once again, and the musical taent is outstanding. The track then blends into....
10 - I Write Sins, Not Tragedies - This song gives the chance for Bredon Urie to experiment with his voice....can he do slower singing or not? The beginning of the song has a catchy little tune made up of 5 notes which then has a stunning set of talking vocals over the top 'Oh wel imagine, as I'm pacing the pews ina church corridor' Urie, then throws ina few singing notes here and there throughout the intro. It then kicks into the song with 'I chimed in with a haven't you people ever heard of.....closing the goddam door?' The song then blasts out a good 2 minutes of pure emo rock with this classic tune! this has to be the best Panic! song on the album! 10/10 jsut for this song!
11 - I Constantly Thank God For Esteban - This very biblical song is the next song on te album. The song is very calm and mellow at the beginning, it then slams into the 'Strike up the band!' where the acoustic guitar kicks in and the song really gets swinging. If Panic! release anymore singles off this album, this should definitely be it, as it is a hit in the making!
12 - There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey. You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet - This song starts with a drum beat that sounds a bit like a marching band. The vocals then come into action with 'Please leave all overcoats, cains and ...tophats with the doorman' This song gives out a warning basically that smoking gives you cancer. The controversial lyric 'Havne't you heard that, I'm the new cancer' makes way for the absolute genius musical talent throughout this song. The music and the lyrics just mix together so well, yet so wierdly, but it jsut cathces your ear, and you automatically love it!
13 - Build God, Then We'll Talk - This track is a wonderful way to finish off a wonderful record! The song blasts out very complex lyric after complex lyric 'Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy' This song mixes musical talent with complexity, along with all he other sons which also do the same thing, its jsut that this song does it better than all the others!
Overall opinion This album is a fantastic album, a must have! If you have any friends that like decent music, sligltly on the mo side of music, then advise them to buy this record, or buy it for them! Definitely the best CD I have ever bought, I jsut wish it had more songs on it!
10/10 no doubt about it!

Advantages: Panic at the Disco have in their career released an excellent album. Disadvantages: An extremely lacklustre offering, the vocals lack life and the melodies are tedious.
